Sorry if this has already been posted.

After watching the new Encyclopaedia video released on the AssassinsCreedUK channel, we caught a glimpse of "A new Assassin".

I haven't bought the comics (Can you get them off the net?) and not sure if this character is included in them, but I did a quick Google check for "Shao Jun Assassin's Creed" and it returned no relevant results.

So, is this our new Assassin for Assassin's Creed 3? I hope so, the character looks, Japanese and is wielding a Katana, so is this our new ancestor? Did we finally get an Asian ancestor?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...dAsQ5w&feature=feedu (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJO52dAsQ5w&feature=feedu)

Discuss.

P.S. Can't wait for Revelations, but stop with the swirls on the AC:B belt please Ubi! From an AC addict/Cosplayer/Weaponeer.

She will be in Assassin's Creed: Embers, the animated short coming out the same day as Revelations telling a story of Ezio's later years. They hinted that this new video would reveal a little more about her on Monday:

Spoilers I know this is a bit irelevant, but there has been a theory on this forum, which states that Lucy is a templar, but if you go to the video above on 1:03, and look under Desmond miles/friends and allies it says lucy on their. Spoiler end

Edit: Forget about that, under altair/ Friends and allies, it lists al mualim as a freind

No I don't think she's going to play the main ancestor role, AC games take place during heavy sociopolitical times Ex. The Crusades Muslims Vs. Christians and Renaissance Knowledge and Discovery Vs. The Church what I think is she's gonna be more of a bridge for the next ancestor some hundreds of years later

I don't think Ubisoft would make something in a game the same as from a movie or whatever.

I was just about to post this too!
I'm dying of excitement.
ASIAN SETTING AC3, my long awaited wish possibly might just come true!!

The name Shao Jun sounds more Chinese, the clothing and sword looks Chinese also. Does not look like a Katana to me.
I prefer Ancient China over Japan for a game like AC.

I cant wait for more new news about the new assassin and new setting.

I want to free roam here so badly...

First of all, Shao Jun isn't Japanese, at least the name is Chinese; in that case that assassin is wielding a Chinese sword, not a katana. Even if Desmond could have 2 branches of ascendents one coming from Alta´r and another one coming from an Asian family, I would find a Chinese assassin quite hard to fit in the actual plot... even though I would really like an AC in a Far Eastern background such as China or Japan. Anyway I think that AC actual plot should finish in the 3rd one (ACIII) and then just get new plot with a new subject to explore his/her ascendents story.

The sword doesn't look like a katana, likely a dao or something along those lines. The name is definitely not Japanese. It's most likely to be Chinese. I would like to see an AC game set in feudal Japan, but I don't mind an ancient Chinese setting, either.

They wouldn't give away who the ancestor in AC3 is already, it wouldn't be the most intelligent they've done if it was.

But yeah as it was said before she is in Embers.

Didnt many people find it hard to believe it was hard to make it work in Italy seeing as Altair was middle eastern? But they did find a way to make Ezio work in the AC series.

Point is that, there's still much to be revealed, until then, I don't think you should argue as if you knew 100% of whats behind Desmond's ethnic background, and go around saying "this will work and this wont work".

no, i meant "ancestor"... desmond was told to find "eve." basically sure... a descendent to the original eve but she's referred to by 16 as "eve" if i recall. anyway, i meant what i said... the new eve. the point at which the line of adam and eve re-converges.

I think the way Ac is set up is that Adam and Eve were the first of many things, but aren't the progenitors of the entire race as the bible states. Probably the first of the hybrids though

As cool as it would be to play an Assassin in Japan or China, I don't really think that Ubisoft would release something as big as the next main Assassin in the AC franchise so soon (especially seeing as Revelations hasn't even been released yet).
As "Twnety_glyphs" said she will be in AC: Embers, so she could be his nemesis in that or something like that.

but wasn't she sitting down while talking to Ezio? but yeah, she still could be the one trying to attack him. Honestly, I just want to see an assassin besides the one we play as with abilities like the main character. Like someone else with eagle vision or sense.

That's not a problem. They could fit the story into Chinese history quite easily without losing that big dynamic: late 1800s to early 1900s, for example, and all the events leading to and from the Boxer Rebellion. There was the huge swindle by the British to force the Chinese to accept opium in exchange for silver, which had a disastrous effect on the Chinese public. It's easy to form a fictional British Templar vs Chinese Assassin theme into that, and the architecture of the time would suit the gameplay.

No lie, it looks like Ezio up and quite the order. Personally, I'd get rid of any leaks like that, but the assassin order gets all chummy wummy sometimes. Or maybe she is a hired assassin and not one of THE assassins.

Not as Desmond's ancestor. That few generations would leave traces in Desmond's appearance and he doesn't look one bit Asian.

So, to all the people says the game cant be set in East Asia (China/Japan) because Altair or Ezio never makes it to Asia, you are 100% wrong. Looks like Ubisoft is trying to clear up all the confusion of fans thinking the game can only take place in europe and any future assassins must be connected Ezio or it cant be done are all futile.
There will be a possibility of a Ninja or Asian Assassin in AC3 with an oriental setting. Woot!

Shao Jun looks to be one of them. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

Cool, but I don't remember many people saying that. It's mostly because it sounds really cliche to have them in the ninja setting. But if they can pull it off, why not?
