I removed the amb_SubmarineInterior sound file from the game and wow its nice not to have it. If you are a person that plays on 100% realism or just without external view and are inside the sub a lot then you know that **** rumbling nose can be annoying even when you stop all the engines the sound is still there but without it all you hear is your sub creaking under the presser and your propeller and other ships passing. It adds a lot to the game for me and thought some of you might want to try it if you have not already.

it's located at:
Program\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\data\Sound
'amb_SubmarineInterior' wav/pcm

i used Audacity, a freeware :-) to edit the file
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/?lang=en

make a backup of your original soundfile first :=)
