Short answer: yes. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/winky.gif

Well can't haul as big bombloads in fact. Faster, more robust, enclosed gunner and a well done cockpit (and an ammo counter, very useful).

Its like an Il-2 thats gone on a sucessful weight loss programme.

Its a little faster, a little more responsive (and a little more squirrely on the rudder) and a little lighter in the air.

Fighters will still eat it for breakfast, unless its flown very low, by a very good evasive pilot.

Good points are the extra speed and quicker turn, bad points are the lighter internal and droppable armament.

Mud movers will have lots of fun.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I flew it once and it's a very nice aircraft..

The guns on it are devastating so even if your out of droppable weapons you still have a darned effective gun armament.

Its OK, but not as much fun as the IL2-M3. It carries less rockets than the single seat IL-2. I miss the punch of the 37mm cannon on the IL-2 M3, that thing sounded great. Also miss the PTAB anti-tank bombs. Also the cockpit visibility is terrible due to the extra armour plates either side of the pilot.

While it is faster and ligher I would use the IL2-M3 if given the choice.

IL-10 campaign is OK, but suffers from not being dynamic and there are annoying US voices on the radio which need to be switched off in the FMB to bring back the immersion.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I like it a lot. As has already been mentioned it can't carry as large a payload as the late model Il2s but its an extremely smooth aircraft to fly and the cockpit is very well modeled. I find that it makes ground attack easier because it feels more stable than the Il2s, especially at lower speeds. Its really a great addition to the game.

On the subject of stability - anyone else notice how this thing shakes badly below 300ft with wind and turbulence switched on? Every time I get below 300 the damn thing starts shaking so badly it is difficult to line up on targets. My airspeed is fine and I have no flaps deployed or damage on each occasion this happens so I am not sure what is going on. Maybe the wind and turbulence is just a bit overdone below 300?<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

It gets that way when visibility is blind, rainy, or in a thunderstorm. Its a built in variable for this type of weather condition. Until SoW comes with its dynamic weather this is probably the best it can be...but its been like this as long as we've had the game. It does make precision attacks challenging http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

The low-alt turbulence is the most frustrating weather condition there could be in Il-2! It forces me to attempt to fly underneath it (the air is smooth to a certain height above sea level, so hope your target's not on a hill!) and then I crash into stuff.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Its good for hit and runs. Come low and destroy what u can, then get the f**k out of there before the enemy has a chance to respond.

Ive been doing this online since i got the 46 dvd and it still has not failed me yet.

It moves up and down with the cloud layer.

To be honest, weather isn't there to just be pretty...I enjoy the difficulty and effect of being bounced around in the layers of turbulence under a storm. Reminds me of more than a few trips I've been on http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
