Which program did you use? I love that smoke. Here's something I did way back, Photoshop is the way to go, IMHO. I just added some filters, a few layer tricks and some color/contrast adjustment. Filters can add a lot to a screenshot if used correctly.

I like the top pic. The object positioning is good. I feel sorry for the photogragher though, brrrrr. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

I'm not comfortable with the 3d perception of the second. Since you are using crosshatch, it's ok to zoom and crop. You won't get the odd warping angles. Zoom and crop also saves the time of getting rid off the speed bar. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I have the same question as the float plane dude, what program are you using?

I still don't know how to work with pasting layers. Danjama won't explain it to me. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/cry.gif

Not a very bad ty.Pretty crappy editing if I do say so myself. It just doesn`t fit.But there`s no reson to stop if it`s fun for you.
IMO real art made from screenshots is made by ppl who understand editing programs(saturation, contrast, etc).I did a couple good editings but didn`t have any idea how to make em look like those made by proffesionals.

Interesting pics. I don`t really do Art through computer programs, so can`t say much about it, except maybe the effect is a bit too much? Maybe reduce it down a bit.

But I don`t know, the guys who do this stuff professionally will know better.

It's always fun to play around with the filters. Sometimes it works, mostly it doesn't. The real challenge is making a shot believable -- not necessarily photo-real, but something that pulls on the emotions. Those are the shots I love.

To do that effectively for screenshot art (and I'm no expert), requires combining elements drawn from several fields, the least important of which are your editing skills. I've seen brilliantly photoshopped screenshots that don't hold a candle to a well thought-out composition with little to no editing.

The good thing is, it's fun to do, it compliments our flight-simming passion nicely, and you do get better with practice. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Actually, Photoshop is pretty cool. I decided I would give it a try and this is what I come up with. This is my design for my sig.

I havent been able to figure out how to blend 2 objects as one...How did u place a pic of ur face on the nose. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Anyways i like them both i cant decide wich i like more, both of the pics : one with the eyes closed and the beast with eyes, look cool. I think if u can put some Red in the eyes of the beast it would look superb http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

To be honest, I don't really know how to do it either. Danjama, the young and impressionable, hasn't told me yet.

I played with PS and jusy couldn't figure out the "layers" thing. So I used "lasso" to cut the face away. I pasted it on a white background since it needed a heck of a lot of work. The teeth are the only thing I didn't mess with too much. Anyways, I used paint for the drawing and PS for the blurtool, resizing, and color levels.

Once the drawing was finished I used "lasso" again, this time only to cut the image free by tracing the outline, then press Ctrl+c.

Then I go to my plane and press Ctrl+v. This is the part that takes a long time, positioning. When pasting the image, it will always end up center of the borders, so zoom in on the background and keep pasting, then ctrl+z to remove the image, and reposition the image until you get it where you want.

Once I got the right position I the take the pic to Paint. In paint I zoom in and work on it pixel by pixel. Once I have what I want, color speaking and drawing, I then go back to PS to use the blurtool.

I know my method isn't the right one, but it works.

I agree with what you said about the eyes, they should have an orangish tone like the teeth. I still have lots of work to do yet, I'm stil not satisfied.

Ive used serif photoplus figuring out layers was pretty easy on there. Heck thats how i made my sig. They have a free easy to use downloadable version, u might wana try tinkering with layers on there.
Now like i said im using photoimpact11 and I cant figure out for the life of me how to take something out of a picture, for example a plane and put it on another background. The magic wand is a bust. U were talking about the lasso and it seems to be a little more friendly. I myself got around to using it last night, but it got late and i had to go to sleep.
This is what im working on now.
