I know I posted this in some thread a long time ago, but needs repeating.

On-line BOB wars require that a single player be able to control multiple AI bombers. As it is now you will see 1 or 2 bombers flown by single pilots, but that won't do for BOB.

One pilot should be able to control or lead a large number of AI piloted bombers. The pilot should be able to selected the number of AI bombers and select the location of their target. If the on-line pilot leading or hidden in one of the planes in the formation is killed the formation will carry on and carpet bomb the selected target. If he survives he will be able to direct the AI aircraft when to release their bombs on mass for more accurate bombing.

This will increase the survivability of the on-line pilot as his opponants won't know which aircraft he's flying in the formation. Of-course there could be multiple real pilots in the formation, who could take over command, and maybe even select a different target.

Any other ideas to add or detract?<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Aces High does this and it works well. This would certainly be a great option.

Good news...AI aircraft will be available in BOB on-line dogfight maps. This could mean hundreds of bombers to intercept with a few real pilots intermingled in the bomber formations. The life expectancy of the on-line bomber pilot just went way up.

It will be interesting since they are talking about the ability to move from aircraft to aircraft in flight. You should be able to jump from gunner position to gunner position in different aircraft. Depending on which side of the formation is being attacked...you could jump into a gunner position in that area of the formation to protect it or jump to an aircraft in safer area of the formation. Interesting scenarios available. If your bomber is going down...jump to the next. Way cool.

This will be available as an option in the difficulty settings. Options are good.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

This can already be done (almost) with currently operating IL-2 dedicated co-op servers with the obvious limitation that players can't join while a mission is in progress. Not an identical situation, but, if people would actually fly on the dedicated co-ops, a much better experience than DF servers IMO.

The coops are good but I prefer the continues maps, protect, and attack scenerios of Warclouds. If someone runs into you on the runway you just quickly get another plane and the battle rages 24/7, with no waiting. You will get deathkicked but the wait is only 5 minutes compared to the constant waiting of co-ops.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
