A week or so ago I replied to a post inquiring about this device, which I own, in terms of it being mainly a luxury for those who hate the silly hats (which, admittedly, are hot in the summer), but I have noticed lately, while playing 6 DOF BATTLE OF BRITAIN II, that the problem of losing centering after quickly checking six repeatedly has gone away completely. Maybe it is the Track Clip Pro?

Hi I am waiting for the clip to arrive. I think that as its relying on a light rather than a reflection it should be more accurate http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Thanks for the technical clarification! A tip---be sure the longest end of the "C" is at the bottom or the device will not work at all!

Well mine fits quite nicely on my Speed Link Medusa headset, which is quite a bulky HS. My Son has some flimsy cheap thin headset and it fits on his OK, so I reckon it will fit quite a wide variety of headsets.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I want one...I'm just too damned cheap to spend $40USD on something that likely won't perceivably change my experience (I have no problem wearing my trackhat w/clip). But hey, I was wrong about the vector expansion a couple years ago as well. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

When you say centering problem has gone away, are you refering to what has been called the "broken neck" bug when the unit loses centering and you are suddenly looking down into the seat pan?

I have been playing with both the hat and the clip over the last few days(wanted to hear the Snd improvements in both 5.1 and headphones, and Im on evenings so the Missus isnt home so I can blast it)
I found the hat did lose tracking under extreme over the shoulder moves where the Trackclip didnt so it most definitely works better IMO.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

That's all I needed to hear. The way my desk is setup I have a weird placement of my TIR and it loses tracking rather often. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I'll make this short and sweet because my long detailed post was vaporized by Ubi's troubles. Making fast "check six" glances in 6 DOF BOB II deranged the TR4 Pro with hat I used. The Track Clip PRO cured the problem 100%.

Got mine in the UK from:

http://www.rcsimulations.com/trackir_access.htm

for 29.95. I must say RC are a pleasure to deal with. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

For about the sixth time, I'll try to post this. By "deranged" I mean the view through my windscreen would become that of a pilot floating in mid air on his side after I checked six very fast. I had to quickly hit center to fix my view. If I was driving in for a shot, checked six really fast above and to each side, and went back to my sight, having to recenter often cost me my shot. The old TrackIR drifts down to your seat pan problem can be fixed by centering your view just a tad lower than normal. Hope this posts!
