View Full Version : Hello World - Sad news for me (and maybe you)...

Hello,

This is my first post here in a very long time. How are you all?

I just wanted to pop in and say that my website was shutdown (my company finally went out of business and my servers shutdown) and additionally last November my computer was stolen during a break in at my apartment, which happened to include my only backups of my "dreyer vs Hartmann role-playing game" with tracks and everything. I've pretty much lost all my IL2 related work. If anyone have anything please don't delete it off your computer just yet ;-)

(Does anyone have a copy of my Audio Commentary with track?)

I haven't played any IL2 in a long time, just lost interest I guess. I was hoping BOB would come out in the near future, any word on this?

Ah, maybe I'll start playing IL2 again soon regardless, it's tempting. Just have to purchase a brand new computer first. Blahh.

Best wishes,
dreyer

Hey Dreyer-

I've found your tracks and Hartmann game to be very informative. I may have a few of your tracks, and I know for a fact I have your training track with the audio file too, the one where you flew the Zero.

I should still have most if not all tracks including audio, I'll look when I get home, unless someone else beats me to it. and returns this stuff back to you today.

Sorry for your missfortune.

You might try this to get thepages back,

Heart Dryer,

I have the tracks where you Disco'ed from the server before your flaming 109 hit the dirt and ruined your "deathless" streak.

PM me if you want them.

Sad to hear. We were looking for you the other day (1-2 months ago), wondering what has happened with your website (tracks so useful to show to beginners). I remember your last idea was playing the role again with a wingman - where did that get stuck?

By the way, if you were tired of the DF servers, maybe the solution to that problem is clicking on the below sig.

Some wicked flying on those tracks mate. Some of those 9 and 10 kill sorties in a 109 and Spitfire are breathtaking.

YOu have always done your best to help others.

Sad to see your site go down http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Thanks man, please keep them on your drive until I can get up my web site. I'll have a FTP setup which you can upload it to eventually, if you'd be so kind.

I see people are still intent on manipulating the truth and spread lies.

Why do you care anyways? My role-playing game was for my enjoyment only. If I lied, I'd only be lying to my self, it has nothing to do with you. So why do you put me down for sharing my tracks?

Sure, thank you, please send "it" to me.

Thank you!

I never really found a suitable wingman, in addition I realized how much time it would take to practice and become efficient flying with a wingman, it really makes strategy and tactics a million times more complex. Maybe in the future...

Sorry your website went down along with mine, I hope you had backups of your data?

I'm looking to get back into the scene and start up something similar. It might be another month or two though until I'm back. I haven't flown more than a few hours in almost 1.5 years; I'm going to need a lot of practice to be able to provide anyone with decent online tracks again.

Thank you very much T_O_A_D!

If you could hold on to these until I get an FTP online that would be great.

Some of those tracks are so old, hehe. Training versus Stachl, oh I remember that, good times.

Thanks man!

I have been able to find about 30-60 ntrk's from your old site. I am the process of getting them organized.

Things like:

dreyer_training_track03.ntrk
dreyer_training_track04.ntrk
dreyer_yak1b_BF110G2_lesson.ntrk
And a LOT of dated file name (29_06_2004.ntrk)

I will get them all together that I can and burn to a CD and ship if possible.

That sound okay?

Good to hear again from you, Dreyer.
A couple of months ago i searched for your website cause i just wanted to check out again some of your tracks and was sad that it apparently went missing (along with you).
I found most of your tracks amazing, but didn't find the time to watch most of them.
Back then you stated that you maybe wanted to make a second training track if the first was well received (whick it was IMHO) but then you went missing. Is there still a possibility for that or are you just not that interested in IL-2 anymore?

Oh, and don't take HayateAce too serious, bashing seems to be his favourite hobby.

Sorry to hear about your misfortunes _dreyer.

I also learnt the hard way about the need for a good backup system. I'll never make that mistake again - and I guess neither will you. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/1072.gif

Anyway, a Hartmann vs Dreyer + Wingman would be pretty cool indeed. I hope you go ahead with it. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

And Storm of War *should* be out by Xmas '07 <rubs hands with glee>

Hey Rick,

Wow, if you could do that, you'd be my hero!

Thanks!

When you say training track I assume you're talking about the video audio commentary? Yeah, I'd like to make something like that in the future again.

However, at the moment, I'm just not qualifyed to teach anyone else. I've lost some of my skills from inactivity. I'll need to practice hard to catch up with the rest of the community.

Thanks for your comments.

trumper That would be great, I'll get back to you with FTP information at a later date.

Flying_Nutcase: Sure have! 

Flying with a wingman is difficult simply because of time constraints. Trying to fit in my own play time schedule with someone else's makes it a lot harder. But we'll see.

just ignore HayateAce, she hate 109 and anyone who fly 109. Women are difficult to undterstand, I guess...

Dreyer,

Are you there my friend? I have finished collecting all your tracks. Well, all the ones that I could find.

I have about 120 tracks (ntrk) totalling about 500 MB. So, if you send your postal address to rjryerson#neo.rr.com I will ship this out to you.

Hey, if you'd like to get the Dreyer v Hartmann going again, let me know. An experience like that would surely help my game.

Best regards,

Rick

Very sorry to hear of your misfortune my friend.
I have a couple of your tracks including the one with the instructional voice track and very informative they were too. I was hoping that you would have made more. From the posts above it seems that most of your tracks have been saved,
good luck and beware of the lowlives.
Cheers m8,

S! Dreyer. Sorry to hear about your misfortunes. I'm sure it will work out ok in the end because that's the way it is for those who help others. I learned from your tracks as well but you wouldn't know it by my online performance sometimes. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

sorry for bumping this but I remember watching a couple of dreyer's tracks when I played il2 way back. I got myself il2 1946 and I'd like to those tracks again. Are they up somewhere right now, or could someone perhaps send a couple of them my way?

I mentioned his tracks in a 109K4 thread recently, he was awesome in that plane, 10 kill sorties were nothing for him on Greatergreen and Warclouds.

Often it took him 1 single shot of 30mm to destroy a plane.

If anyone does have some of his tracks, I would like to see them again too. He was the master of energy management.

He was also very good in the Spitfire too.
