For those interested in an immersive PTO online war campaign you will be pleased to see that Forgotten Skies is currently running a Pacific Theatre campaign in an online virtual war format.

We have both coop and dogfight senarios - rpg element where your current pilot persona is tracked (called 'persona points' which help your team), secure bunkers for each side to communicate strategy and tactics.

What is Forgotten Skies?

Forgotten Skies is a community of virtual pilots that participate in an immersive online war using teamwork, strategy, and tactics. We take great pride in our community of dedicated people who not only love the flying sim IL2 series, but enjoy taking that experience to the next level online. Forgotten Skies is about teamwork and pilots working together to establish air superiority in order to facilitate a strong ground based war. Our war has existed since 1C's Forgotten Battles was released and we continue to fly missions daily.

How does Forgotten Skies work?

Forgotten Skies is a server based interface that uses the DCG (http://www.lowengrin.com) engine to generate missions. Forgotten Skies supports both cooperative based missions and dogfight missions. Our dogfight missions use a tool created by 609_Scorp to track time, show pilots in game status of areas under attack, and to perform a deathkick (15 minute wait before rejoining dogfight).

It is totally web driven to allow for multiple hosts - the host simply goes to the web page, enter some mission parameters (ie. 8v8 or 16v16, coop or dogfight), and clicks 'Generate'. This generates a DCG mission and allows the host to download it.

When the mission is over, the host uploads the results to the Forgotten Skies website and we track the DCG campaign with generated maps, and we store each pilots stats in our database and display the results to the pilots. You can think of the Forgotten Skies website as a web-based tool to view the details of DCG, from oil supplies to aircraft availability to tank and convoy progress.

Forgotten Skies and DCG work together to create this virtual online battlefield.
