Well here is a link to a well known comparison report of both planes:

http://web.cetlink.net/~howardds/id95.htm

Thats the conclusion:

Now this is how both planes perform in PF:

It doesn't take a genious to notice the huge discrepancy.

Just read the conclusion of the report and then look at the performance of both planes in PF.

Oleg, since you tuned recently F4U-1 and maybe all we agree now that it perfoms accurately, could you
please look at the P-51..

I just can't imagine how a plane with generally low power to weight ratio
(weghts more than 4 tons - less than 1500hp sea level engine power)
can climb so well!

Also notice its extremely good low speed turning ability. While flying it you have
the feeling it "float" in the air... Are you sure you haven't taken away a tonn
from it's modelled weight in the game by mistake? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

I'm very curios to see you comments on this topic...

P-51 slow speed turning was fixed in 3.02. Climb time with 100% fuel is close to RL time as i remember. Dont know how P-51 exacly should climb with less fuel (for sure better). Other hand early version of Corsiar wasn't good in climb.

Yes, the P-51 lowspeed turnability has been tuned, and it now behaves as one would expect it to.
On the climb issue, I don't know if it's overmodelled or not, but with D model I can get to 5000m in 4 minutes and 37 seconds with full fuel and boost. realistic or not, I'll leave that to someone else to decide.

It still climbs like 5000ftmin on the deck so it's definately uber. Max climb was 3200 or so. Same for the Jug.
