I wasn't really too sure about Oleg's response to the sound in the new BoB. Granted I can hear the difference in engine sounds in the IL2 series but it is very suttle.

What I'm getting at here is will it be of this kind of quality (the sound not the graphics).

Many will have seen this vid before - if you haven't then......enjoy http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

those aircraft, believe it or not, are computer generated, so there's no way of knowing for sure if the sound of their engines is at all accurate. (unless you've heard a Merlin, of course.)

It's very innacurate

To ask about the sound or graphics in BoB these days is just pure guess work and wishful thinking. I really dont think people understand just how far off this sim is from seeing the store shelves.

Sure I wish SoW: BoB has realistic sounds too.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Yeah mate I know, that's why I said "graphics" http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I know that this game is very very far off from completion - but Olegs reply on the subject made it seem as if he thought the IL2 series was good enough in the sound Dept.
Would just be nice to know if they actually plan on improving it for the Storm of War series whenever that may be.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Who cares, they give me a chubby. The mustang that flys around my house sounds more like these vids than il2. I had links to these vids before but they didn't work anymore, thanks for posting.

I've heard many a Merlin engine...doesn't sound like that. The audio uses some samples from merlin engines but also from some more generic "propeller" sounds that could belong to any aircraft. But most of it is either audio layers of original sounds or dubs from something else. Its pretty convincing overall for effect but not exactly what I've heard.

When the Lancaster or Spitfire makes a slow pass there is a throaty growl that you have to be there to appreciate although audio/video captures it fairly well. The Firefly's Griffon engine is even more angry sounding.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Since we are talking about sound, I would like to ask if we can expect to have a sort of "speed of sound delay" for explosions and things that occur far away. Will it take "X" amount of time for the sound to reach the person who is "Y" meters away? I remember bringing this up in another thread quite some time ago. I may start a separate thread about this since I beleive this is important.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Of course. It's the only engine that gives me chills when I hear one.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

This is my feelings as well....If Oleg would understand, and give some indication of the importance of high quality sounds in SOW....I would rest easyier<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
