Thought the 109 wasn't supposed to roll that fast http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/784.gif

Loved the zoom climb too.

Nothing like the sound of those DB superchargers.

Is the Me from the first video the one that crashed not too long ago?

The whine of those superchargers never fail to touch me in a very sensitive area! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

The second and last videos were shown before on these forums, but it's still fun to see them. I've ordered my DVDs already.

That's one thing that the original Il-2 did better than Forgotten Battles. The supercharger really sounded great.

The original IL2 had the supercharger whine and they removed it for some unknown reason.

For the ppl who are interested in what the pilot says about the "Rote 7" (Red 7) in the first video:

They use max. 1300 HP of 1475 HP because the airplane weights 2.7 tons only (500 kg less then normal) because of the missing weapons and devices of the original plane. The take-off and landing behaviour are somewhat better then the original because of the lower weight.

Some info i recall:

The "Rote 7" was made from a spanish-build "Buchon" (Messerschmitt with Merlin Engine), which got the nose of an original Bf-109.
It's a Bf-109G-4 recon plane.

The original IL2 had a lot of excellent sounds and those wonderful muzzle flashes, all were gutted because people crabbed.."not realistic blah blah blah".

That was worth a bump.

Great stuff! Oh but if we could only have those sounds in the game...

There were add-on sound files for Janes WWII Fighters that roared like that. You could just sit there hitting the fly-by key over and over.

I've never heard a 109 fly-by in real but I imagine there's nothing like it. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/heart.gif

Hello,

it was a pleasure to see a Messerschmitt flying at Hahnweide. Another Video is here available. It is a short one but the sound is amazing.

Ohh, i've always wondered what that whining was. I have noticed that they don't have it anymore.
