EUROPEAN AIR WAR.

WHAT was the aircraft in the splash screen with the cowling off, and the guy standing in the foreground?

had 3 blade prop, if i recollect.

nobody seems to know.

It's a Hurricane, with it's spinner cap removed...

Actually I believe they are wholly different kind of propellors, not just without the spinners. The RCAF had a bunch of them at an airfield near here during the war and a pilot I was talking to, said they had a specific type of prop different from the normal Hurri. All the pics of these Canadian Hurricanes show the props like in your pics.

They wouldn't have removed the spinners for looks I guess....

A number of Canadian made Hurricanes used domestically for RCAF's training used Hamilton Standard props without a spinner. Looks a little odd, but they weren't that concerned with aesthetics at that point of the war.

WOW, looks like somebody is prolly right. i had seen this question asked on several forums before, last i saw they went several pages...with no answer.
