Hal Moore laid the praise on very thick for the Spad pilots in his book "We Were Soldiers Once And Young". He said the combination of close air support and artillery were the only things standing between his men and oblivion!

Does anyone remember that quote in the movie when the Spads napalmed the NVA regulars and Moore turns to his Sgt. Major and says something like "It could be worse Sgt. Major. We could be walking to work through THAT!"
