Cool! I was finally able to find the thread that had this in it:
http://server6.uploadit.org/files/BlitzPigDDT-coconut.jpg

I thought I saved it, since I wanted to email it to a friend who is a history buff, a Python fan, and speaks German. A search a few months ago was not able to find it.

This just makes me more confident that the patch is coming. If the search engine can be fixed after Lord knows how long, I can wait for the patch.

Yeah, I noticed that flashing thingy the other day. I was going to post in General saying good deal UBI, but felt I'd be again accused of spamming, so there it is.

As far as the search feature goes, it has better days and worse days and I view it kinda like I view the mods around here... it is worth at least as much as I'm paying for it! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif

Thanks for the compliment, but I'll stay with the inmates rather than those who have the thankless job of running the nut house!

And you are right, I learn something new every day and then some in these forums. You gotta remember, I'm like in my mid 40's and I didn't grow up like my daughter did talking by way of forums. I'm so internet stupid, that my first few posts here were made with me thinking Hunter82 and steve v were paid employees of UBI! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

Nothing could be farther from the truth. The only payment the mods get is in pain. They get their e-mail accounts occassionally signed up for spam... by the way, I know an IT guy at the 10th largest spammer in the U.S. Sign me up for spam and RACER X will find out about it and sign the offending party up for truly spam from hell... but not before finding out the guy's REAL busines e-mail adresses and whatnot, so a junk account won't save you! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif

Anyways, I'm babbling again (hey Luckyboy, why should today be any different than any other day?!) The mods are not paid. To my knowledge, they don't even get a discount on buying games. So, if you are like me, you wonder why they do it. Over time, you learn that most of them do it to promote this game because they know that if they don't do it, it won't get done and future development will end. Contrary to popular belief, WWII combat flight sims are an obscure, tiny part of the market at best. Couple that with the fact that the development costs are much, much higher than some space munchie's game and you can see it is hobbled from the start.

This is why I've finally come to the small wisdom that even if I'm not fond of how a mod treats me, I gotta respect that they are at least trying... and with less than 60,000 legal copies of PF sold and the rest apparently pirated, I am starting to feel that my efforts around here, which started out and to a great extent continue to keep me participating... ok, part of my motives is also to promote the game. Right now I'm actually quite depressed about how we've treated 1:C games. their reward for having cared enough to do as much as they have has led them to my golden rule of...

No Good Deed Goes Unpunished! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/34.gif

I've spent a couple of weeks doing the poor, poor pitifull me routine... for all the good it does you!... and now, I'm thinking...

If I feel like this having only written down the Luckyboy's Guide For Complete Users, which is actually crammed full of the community's ideas that work, not mine and maybe helped a few and hurt a couple trying, how do the mods feel? Man, these guys have families and jobs and ok, so they've banned me a couple of times for a couple of weeks when maybe they should not have or who knows, maybe I should have been banned permanently long ago. I don't get special treatment by the mods. In fact, because I know better on some things, they hold me to a higher standard. Man, I'm rambling again... kids don't get old, it ain't pretty! Ok, how do the mods feel? So I'm depressed about all this... big darn deal! Some of these guys have been around longer and have done 10 times more for this game than I will in a lifetime of effort. How do they feel to see all their efforts go to just so much p[ss down the sewer?!

Man oh man, it just can't end this way! I know many play this game as part of their gaming. Me, I'm only interested in serious WWII combat flight sims... ok, so I'm narrow minded, get in line and sue me! Because I'm only interested in the best, most realistic WWII combat flight sim game, like it or not, I gotta find a way to feed and promote the code from hell punched in Ruskieland and surly customer service from the French! WE all need to wake up! We are collectively killing this game and the end is truly near. This one dies, you wanna show me another one we can turn to for future development? We have to like, actually buy the game and not play with our best friend if he doesn't. We have to stop whining for the right now patch instead of the right one. We have to stop seeing some little graphics trick in another game and immediately crawling on out bellies over to ORR to whine for it to be added to a game that even the fastest of modern gaming PC's is just now coming to grips with. It's like asking again and again for a straw to break the camel's back.

Wow!! This saves me from sending in the 39 questions that I'd planned to post next week!! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif
