It is real man. Actually the guy flew it for almost 5 minutes like this. Of course in the end he crashed cause the plane had a strong tendency to rotate on its axis.

The thing is... could this kind of damage happen in real? Probably yes, but the right engine was about to stay out of fuel. Right?

Oh, and there was smoke, little but there was.

That happened to me. Ki-84, be ya didn't see that coming. Anyways he was nice enoug to let me land. The rotation was bad as well as the torque pluss missing a rudder made me go off the runway and flip. But I lived!

Think about it (and this is the kind of stuff I meant), as quirky as the IL2/FB/AEP engine has ever been, it's bever been that bad to let a plane fly with no H-stabs. It's a graphics glitch, in that, the graphics do not accurately represent what the engine is seeing as current damage.

Prof. Wizard, forgive me if it is a stupid or OT questions, but how do you do to have various lines of text on the chat windows, and with that font size? I´ve always had one line at a time and big fonts.. Is a line on conf.ini? Can you post it?

Tnx a lot!

Tnx LW_lcarp! And the font size? Changes the size or is as big as was before? On the screenshot seems little than mine...

If Oleg wanted it flying for us, then feasible it is.

I was amused by TXTeenPilot's "Insanity Manuever". Needs a lot of nerve to do it in a real dogfight though.

Sorry, but this just confirms what a stupid arcade plane the 109Z is. I`m no aeronautical engineer, but shouldn`t that have spiralled to the ground or at least been so unwieldy to control that the pilot would need to bail?

More I hear of this dumb plane the more I hate it. Perhaps you had Stall/Spins off?

Regarding your skeptisism, SeaFireLIV, the plane was heavily rotating on its length axis and the guy that flew it died in the end in his try to crashland.

And why you hate the plane man? It's ingenious and the Americans did the same with the Mustang. Too bad they didn't see action in the war.

PS. Your sig-pic plane ain't better. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/34.gif

What`s my sig got to do with it? Am I the creator of IL2 FB? Am I gonna have animated grining faces on all my aircraft as part of a simulation? This is just to brighten up the forums, it`s not even my preferred style, but people seem to like it.

But, I was expecting someone would point this out sooner or later. Hey, no problem, soon you`ll see the serious side of my war pictures, where the meaning of war flight combat is graphically (yet somewhat tasefully) portrayed.

People won`t like them as much though, cos they`re serious and not at all funny.

oh yea. The Mustang is a realistic plane that actually flew, it`s flight abilities are known. The 109Z is an aircraft that was more or less just a scientit`s wet dream. Perhaps I could except it in a `what-if` server Campaign. But what`s the point explaining? The `I must have the biggest fastest` crowd wouldn`t care if Oleg included aircraft from LOMAC with flight abilities of 25th century Buck Rogers spacecraft!

Conversely, the people with limited imaginations that hate high performing LW (in particular) aircraft that don't conform to their ridgid ideals of being slow, boring, and easy to kill, and used extensively in the war (the no imagination part, they can't enjoy it if it wasn't done for real and about 9 billion other times in past fiction and sims), spew bile left and right and display great ignorance toward any such planes.

Sorry man, not trying to start a flame war, but you are displaying just that. The Z is nothing special in terms of in game performance relative to other planes, or in it's FM. The facts of the matter are that Oleg's word is good enough for the non-LW fliers when it concerns the latest VVS hot rod, but once the LW has something competitive, unless it's like the 262 that has reams of proof to back it up to quiet you guys, suddenly, Oleg's horribly wrong somehow. Plus, AEs know how new designs that have never been tried before will fly because they test them in software, so there is nothing unreasonable about this. Finally, all it takes is a brief examination of it and a bit of logic to see that it's performance does nothing more than make perfect sense. Unfortunately, you guys would pitch the same fit if the 262 was modeled as it is but never saw combat. Bascially, you take any excuse you can find. ("you" in the collective sense)

I can't imagine you guys in a WWI sim/forum. Most of that "data" is missing now, lost to antiquity. You'd either be totally unbearable, or, have your heads explode over the paradox of "no real flight data, yet also used extensively".

Wow... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_redface.gif

Some guys are trigger-happy not only while in their cockpits but also in these fora. For God's shake the only reason I talked about your sig was to respond in the "don't TALK about silly aircrafts" spirit. I don't care about the Bf-109Z actually flying and scoring kills. If it was up to me, I would do anything to see every WW2 plane blueprint in this simulation, prototype or just sketch, as long as it was planned until the capitulation of Japan (official end of WW2).

I don't understand why the Bf-109Z gets so flak when I don't recall the B1 Soviet rocket-powered bird under so many grins.

Anywho, we're off-topic and some guys might be interested in the thread... HOW TO FLY THE BF-109 WITH TWO ENGINES BUT NO EXTRA WEIGHT. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif
