Hi

What plane? Are you talking about meters or feet here?

Every aircraft has a best climb speed. What this means is that at this particular speed, you get your best sustained climb.

Throttling up to 100% and pointing the nose up is going to bleed off your airspeed until you can't generate enough lift to keep flying

The extreme of this is called going ballastic and indicates that you can accelerate while going straight up in this type of sustained climb

No WWII era aircraft to my knowledge could hope to do this; as fars as I know it takes modern jet aircraft to do it

Pick a plane, any plane in the sim. Let's say you select a Bf 109-G2

Take off, and apply full power, open your radiator flaps all the way, and get up some speed, say 400 kph or so, while flying level, at say 200m altitude

Now describe to me exactly what you're doing to climb

trie to tell you. im not that good in english so.

Just pointing nose a little bit up. not too much. and then try to get higher and higher:s. My settings are easy. I know that those old planes cant climb without getting more speed.

I just dont know what to do exactly. There are soo much options but there are only 5 training videos for landing and taking off.

mmmm... I have a feeling the answer might be even simpler...

Hydra, you say you're a beginner. Maybe you're a total beginner in flying, I don't know, I'm just assuming from your question. If you are, it's ok, we all were at some point or other.

What may be happening is that your plane is simply stalling. To avoid this, you have to apply enough power for a climb, while keeping your angle of incidence within some sensible limits. Simply put, it means that you should not pull your stick back too much when trying to climb, and try to use as much power as you can without overheating the engine (open the cowl flaps accordingly).

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/1072.gif my answer came a lil bit too late
Anyway, either it helped you, or something else is going on.
Have you tried to check your joystick settings ?
Anyone have a clue about this?

Are you trying to keep up with the computer planes? Don't do that! They can climb faster than you can. They can climb faster than any of us.

Let them climb, but follow them at the same speed if possible. You will find a speed at which you can climb a little and not overheat. The other planes will eventually reach an altitude and stay there. Maintain your speed and climb to meet them.

In many missions you circle after takeoff before heading to the target. Use that time to climb as much as you can. Ignore the path you are supposed to take. Cut the corners and climb, climb, climb. Once the leader heads to teh target, follow him no mattter what your altitude.

What other languages do you speak? I'm sure that there is atleast one other person here on the boards that speaks the same language you do and can help you.

Treetop thinks:

"...Man. I really gotta start taking foreign language classes again! I'm actually a bit embarrassed that I speak only English fluently, when there are so many other multi-lingual blokes on this forum..."

check your propeller pitch is at 100% if you have complex engine management switched on in the difficulty options

raise your flaps too

zal mijn eigen taal bijna vergeten.

hahaha

succes met het oefenen.

Hydra, don't worry about your English level. The Dutch do speak English quite well by and large compared to some other Europeans.
In fact, I inferred from your post that you could not be French, for instance. Not because of your English level, but because you think it's "not that good". No French person would ever think that way if they could write in English like you do... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

You're saying that sometimes you don't know the right words . Well, same here... But that's what dictionaries are made for http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Lol okhttp://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif. Think you guys helped me with what I wanted to know so thnx for thathttp://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif.

Now in dutch.
