oleg can you please reduce the stick pressure from the hurricane and p40, these planes should be competitive against the zero with a 2000-3000alt advantage but thier stick heavy stick pressures of 50lbs you said you might have put is the reason why also please reduce the overheat timing in the p40 like you did with the 109 which is the reason people are not able to achieve top speed int he p40.

Im sure your still working on the zeros fm energy to weight and its manuverabilty and wing damage model from small caliber.

190 seems correct to .50s hitting wings but the zero and ki84 have stronger wings then 190 from small calliber mgs

maybe we should wait for the A6M2.
The Zero in 1.2b is a late 43 Zero and the hurricanes are from 41, they should not have any chance.

waiting for oleg on this, take a look at charts of the wildcat 43zero

compair them to the p40m and hurricane then post back and talk about they should stand no chance

have your tried the MiG-3, model 1940-41 many many many times online against the late 43 zero also http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif zero has very little chance

The AM62 Zero earned a fearsome reputation among allied pilots in the opening years of the Pacific War.

A lot of Allied airman got themselves shot down fighting the AM62 in the early War period in the Pacific.

Eventualy they learned how to fight the Zero, but even then it was dangerouse opponent, bear in mind the early War Japanese pilots where seasoned air veterans.
This combined with the outstanding perfomance of the Zero afforded the Japanese a distinct advantage in the early Pacific war days.

I've read recently that, when an australian squadron flying spitfires came from europe to fight in south pacific, the american ace Joe Foss went to brief them. Basically, he said to them that "what worked against germans won't work against japanese. If they try to dogfight the zeros, they're dead maat"

When asked how he'd handle a zero in a one on one engagement, he answered:

"If you're alone and you meet a zero, run like hell because you're outnumbered..."

that says it all, I guess /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif
