Yes, you can use it but action mechanism is totally different with a/c rudder.
It can ruin your flight habit.
( I once have tried car pedal setup so don't get me wrong )
I recommned you to purchase proper plane rudder like CH Pro Pedals usb.

Yes, You should be, although some guys over here had problems with it. I don't. I have Logi joystick and oldschool Trust Race Master wheel. Both USB devices. Pedals work OK, although I have to switch "split axis On/Off" whenever I choose to drive or fly respectively.

I've got t0he CH Pro Pedals and they come with a couple of inserts that convert them to brake and gas pedal by blocking their ability to move as rudder pedals do.

I use an X-45 and the pedals from my MSFF Wheel, it works great but like others have said the only similarity between driving pedals and rudder pedals is that you put your feet on them.

Until I decide to fork over the $ for rudder pedals I'm satisfied, plus it beats the hell out of a twist stick or the x-45s little rocker thingy.

Yes, but you need to counter-rotate them with your joystick in a vacuum.
