It's a seperate story with no association to the POP trilogy.

There are a few references to the POP trilogy that Ubisoft put in, but other than that it's a new cast, new gameplay, new graphics, new story, and possibly a new trilogy, but that's not been set in stone yet.

I don't like the new game =(

I mean, the Prince is sexy, yes. But the girl...the history...the way the characters are like pixelated...I just don't like it!

WW rules!!

It is intentionally not called "4" or "7" (don't forget the first 3 PoP games!), it's just plain "Prince of Persia". The reason is, no, it's not a continuation of any of the previous PoP games, it's a completely new game and storyline (if it sells well enough, part 1 of a completely new trilogy).

So still the same basic concept, but different prince and different princess and completely different implementation.

And for people who complain about the lack of character depth, lack of history, etc... I'm glad they left so many secrets and options to explore for the sequels! It would be boring if we already knew everything there is to tell, before part 2 and 3 of this new trilogy have even been made!

[Edit: if you really have to call it something else than simply "Prince of Persia", then I guess the working title "Prince of Persia: Prodigy" would probably be a lot better than "Prince of Persia 4" - see also http://www.princeofpersiaprodigy.com/ ]
