Does anyone have a story, or video of a time when you were jumped and somehow managed to survive or even win.(Il2)
I could make a video right now of an incident that happened to me today, but I am too drunk and pooped now for all that download youtube ****.
I was cruising along in my F4U1D and I was jumped by a KI84. I saw tracers streak-by my left wing and I did some kinf of a snap roll in the lucky direction and his rounds missed. I just jerked and rolled, kicked the rudder hard and cut throttle, and I saw him fly over me. We scissored about 5 times and I caught him in my sights and I squeezed off a burst and missed. He Pulled up and around again far some more scisoring. I hit combat flaps and nearly blacked out as I yanked and banked but I got him as we pullled up into another one of his escape attempts. I saw flashes as my rounds impacted his tail. I didnt think I had killed him at at that point, but he spiralled into the ground and exploded. It was beautiful at that point but, holy-sheet. How did I live through that? That was lucky.

I got bounced by an A6M while flying a P-40, we scissored and yo-yo'd, then he was joined by another two A6M's. At this point I thought I would go in, but with turns using combat and take-off flaps, and also taking into account that they would be trying to avoid each other, I managed to shoot two down and damage another, which I got credited for after he RTB'd.

I didn't expect to get home, but that was probably most successful "I'll never make it!" sortie.

Cheers, MP.

Good one.
So they ran into trouble trying to avoid hitting eachother and it was to your advatage.
3 zeroes against 1 P-40 but it was good shooting that got you through. Youd deserve a beer on the house for that one back at base for sure.

Got a quick movie coming up, where I survived 2 Yaks3 (i think they were - 1945 types), in my FW190A9.
The last one was close though, but with a 'bit of this and that', got them both. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif

Most of the time getting out of a bad situation means that I'm alive, but not necessarily in a plane. There are exceptions, though.

Last weekend I was chasing a 190A-4 while he was having his way with a teammate, I'm in a Spit Vb. Anyway, I saw tracers go past the left side of my canopy, so I immediately split-S'd. It turns out that he was diving on me, and his momentum cared him down into my line of sight as I was pulling out of my dive. A lucky snap shot de-winged him. Seems like a simple thing but if that guys aim was a bit better, or he held his fire just a few seconds more he would have killed me.

It's rare that I get the upper hand on an attacker online, unless he's really green.

Here is the one from the same server, I flew Warhawk (http://www.esnips.com/doc/df11ca6c-0906-4481-b781-b486d622e760/DKoor40E-2EA-WoE-408) and tried to intercept German bombers, and eventually got jumped by escorting 109s.
I got lucky there. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
