S!
i fly the 110 mostly now, and use cem to get max out of my engines. I try and keep rpm between 2000 and 2500. I keep rad on auto closed and never push power past 85%, my best speed lvl flight is only 430ias and that is at 1km of height or lower for mudmoving. Has anyone able to get higher speeds or tell me if i am doing something wrong? I really enjoy using cem and seem to get the best reuslts out of my 110 doing this. Just wondering if there are some tweaks you other 110 jocks use to get the most out of these beautiful planes. I like the fact that i can sometimes outrun older models of russian planes. so any tips would be great!

Thanks

I'm a big fan of the 110, however I am less than good with it..

What do you use it for primarily?

I always fly at 110% throttle and just go back down to 99% if it overheats. It instantaneously
cools down. May I ask why you never go higher than 85% throttle?? I would think she'd go faster if you opened up the radiator a tiny bit but went with higher throttle settings like I use. I'll have to go in and check out my speed again, but I'm sure I go faster than you are. I seem to remember going over 450Kph level at times, maybe faster!?!?! I will try to post in here again later. It seems like you are afraid of overheating but I almost ignore overheats in this sim. In other planes I run for 5 minutes overheated with no discernible effect. As long as I let it cool back down for a while afterwards. For one thing, I've been so engrossed in dogfighting at times the last thing I cared about is overheats. But I have never killed an engine by overheating in FB or IL2, all the way back to when the game first came out.

First to Answer the Saregeant Aryan, I mostly use the 110 as a Jabo/ bomber destroyer which it excells at. It has great amament and a variety of bombloads and such. I usually take two sd 500's and the 2 mk 108 cannons if i am bobming targets and strafing convoys. If i go for tanks you can take the 3.5 mm cannon plus the mk 108s to go with it. I just love the verstality of this plane and it does ok when it comes to dogfighting as long as it is not alone.
Mortoma, yeah i am pretty afraid of overheating these engines since they do it rather quickly when i am carrying a bomb load. I use the CEM on the engines and i will try and bump it up a bit more and see what happens.

Radiator open till the action area for me.I cruise allways at around 350 kmph. Use this plane for mudmoving.Maybe I will like her as much as I like the IL2.Too bad this plane can't carry torpedoes http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif. And yes, sometimes is fun to go against bombers with it.Whoooohooo! What a blast! Now, if they only work on that B24!

try to keep your rpm between 2500 and 3000. It's working.

You told us how you weren't afraid to die.
Well then, so long.Don't cry.
Or feel too down.

But at least you tried.

i run my 110 at 90 to 95% throttle with rad close and it does not overheat. Once trim out i get speeds close to 440 to 460

does trim make that much of a difference, without doing that my plane flies level pretty well without trying trim, i will do that tonight. thanks http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/11.gif

Have you guys been finding a big performance difference between "auto" and "CEM"?

I've been loving the 110, flying at 100% (radiator open, except in combat situation) on auto... should I learn CEM?

If you need to get away quick, that thing does over 500 TAS on the deck ( 50% fuel, default armament). That using manual pitch.
