I didn't know this until a few minutes ago but Vista 32 bit does not see all of the ram if you install 4GB. It includes all of the ram on your video card in the 4GB limit and so if you install 4GB of system ram not all will be used. Interesting article here:

Save a little money and install 3GB.

Intersting.

I think 4GB is a little overkill at the moment.

2gb is about the right amount for bang for bug these days.

I atill have only 1.25gb and rarely get any swapping/thrashing in games.

Its XP tho, not Vista. I am aware Vista uses more resources for everything.

Depends on what you like to play or do.

Why go Vista 32 bit in the first place? For that Id just stay with XP.

The solution is not 3gb, the solution is Vista 64bit, then you can install all the ram you want http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif.

At $50/ 2gb Munchkin New-egg, I had to go with 4gb even if Im not using it all. I dont think it hurts to have more for possible future use.

I got 4GB knowing I would only be able to use about 3.3GB of it.

I thought

1) I'll probably upgrade to 64bit in a few years
2) I'm still getting an extra 300mb
3) RAM is sold in pairs and I want Dual Channel
4) RAM is cheap

I currently use 32bit Vista. Bearcat, you ask why go 32bit Vista? Because 64bit isn't supported enough yet.

And vista is better than XP for my tastes.

iM using both 32xp and 32Vista. 64 bit versions dont have good drivers and support for my gaming and Mmedia and application needs at this time.

Vista 64 is very well supported for drivers now. I have frequent updates to drivers for all my hardware.

Vista still sucks balls though http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Vista 64bit is just as supported as vista 32bit, take that how you want, lol. As far as Vista sucking, there is only one major problem with vista, and that error exists between the chair and the keyboard, period, end of story.

I wasn't sure if it was intentional or not, but ROTFL. I have a couple of Gigs of Mushkin, but it'll be Munchkin from now on. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

I could use 4GB myself,as I can easily max out 2GB in Photoshop, but I'm going to wait until Vista's a little more squared away before taking the plunge.

LOL No not intentional.

I just removed 2 GB from my system. The xomputer seems a bit more snappy. Im sending 2G back to New-Egg. Ive just installed new MB-RAM-CPU and reinstalled 32 bit OS's and spent too much time to redo them with 32bit XP and 64bit Vista as I dont have 64 bit XP.
