... they are sitting ducks at the time being? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif
I have not been flying them for a while but a quick spin around with the Go 229 and the Me 262 yesterday was rather depressing. The Gotha was about to fall from the sky. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif
Pity 'cause they were among the most pleasant birds to fly, especially the Schwalbe. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

They aren't stellar by modern standards, but are still in a totally different league than prop planes altogether.

I think if you played some against the jets, you'd see how easily they escape. It's the prop planes that are the sitting ducks, really.

If you ever find yourself being attacked by a prop in a Me-262, you must have done something horribly wrong, like turn fight, or climb at a low speed.

The Gotha is special, in having no vertical stabilizer, and therefore unstable. Otherwise, it's nice, though. Turns better than Me-262.

Thanks for your reply. I should have actually written "in the latest patches" instead of "at the time being", meaning they are far less performimg than what they used to be earlier in the game. Don't you also think so? It looked so evident to me that I had to check if the airbrake was on (which seems to sort no effect whatsoever by the way), or something...

If you mean the "GO" with Gotha then I must tell you that this aircraft is not a Gotha but a Horten.

Thanks. Precious contribution indeed (http://www.geocities.com/nedu537/go229/). http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

They seem pretty normal to me in 4.04. Build up speed quickly and generally fly fast. The jets reward very smooth and consistent flying.

Badsight.

the Gotha is the slowest accelerating of the 4 , you want to stay over 400 in the Go-229 around multiple enemies , under 400 the overheat can force you to accell slower than the fastest props

How does the rudder work in the Gotha? I've always wondered this... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

if you look closely u can see small airbreaks pop in and out with rudder action, on the underside of the wing

The Gotha had no rudder to work with. Instead, lateral controls were executed by a system of spoilers. Activatiting spoilers on the left side of the aircraft, for example, would increase the drag on that side of the machine, pulling the plane in that direction, and producing a "rudder left" lateral movement.

Have you guys tried them with 4.05m?

For from your responses my experience seems to be completely different. I will try them again later, but litterally I couldn't get the Gotha to accelerate more than 300/350 Km/h if not in a dive, and let alone climb. Also, any feedback on its airbrake?
