Hi,

I was lucky enough to meet these three Luftwaffe pilots today, at the Aces Hich gallery, just outside Ailsbury (UK).

They all seemed in good health and good spirits, and we had a bit of a laugh in spite of the language barrier.

They were in for a signing, and I got my 'Duel Below Zero' done by all three.

Its a great place there, but unfortunately not for my wallet! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Regards.

The guy on the left is Walter Schuck, he is credited with 207 victories, of which 190-odd were on the eastern front, the rest in 262s against American bombers on the western front.

The other two have a much more modest victory list.

Thanks. I'm surprised Walter Schuck isn't on the ACES OF THE LUFTWAFFE page. I was looking for him there: nothing. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Walter Schuck - 206 kills, Flew only 109s and 262s. He survived the war and was still around and signing autographs as of 1999
Wolfrum:http://www.jg52.de/RKK-Wolfrum.jpg
Walter Wolfrum (born 23 May 1923 in Schmölz, Germany), was a German World War II fighter ace who served in the Luftwaffe from February 1943 until the end of the war. He is credited with 137 confirmed kills.
Kruse:http://www.axishistory.com/fileadmin/user_upload/k/kruse-ottomar.jpg
KRUSE Unteroffizier Ottomar, Iron Cross (Second Class). Scored 2 confirmed victories on 1 sortie. He started flying before the war, barely 19, and went on to become a distinguished glider pilot after the war. He was initially appointed as an instructor with the Luftwaffe but was determined to become a fighter pilot; so he turned down the appointment, risking a court martial. His ambition was realised in July 1944 when he started flying with 8/JG 26.
