Your IQ is: 130
You missed questions: #7 #8 #10 #11 #12 #15 #16 #18 #20....what kind of aircraft will I be able to fly with that IQ? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

I think the Fighter Pilot IQ is meant to be done quickly? They seem like logical perception puzzles. I don`t know, but that`s what I think, so i gave myself 30 seconds and just went for it. Got 105.

ehh.....I've found when taking these things to NOT try and figure it out yet to just let a result or option look right and pick it. Did well enough on it like I do many but when reviewing the answers I got RIGHT after it often makes little sense to me....

If it was the first time you made the test don't worry. You can "learn" how to make these tests. I have "135" as an earlier score on tickle. But according to MENSA you need to subract 20 points from your score since they are "flattery" points. Average IQ is 100'ish. And giving someone 130 and asking them to buy the full test or anything like or whatever .... ofcourse the person will be happy.

Also, persons who seen these problems even just one time before will score higher. And persons who gone through higher education will score even higher. It is all B.S.

IQ tests need to be purified, require no education.

So there you are, problems problems problems when it comes to creating tests. Why believe that the guys making the tests are intelligent? They might be stupid.

A test require no education to test IQ reduces the test to pattern testing. And then you only test that type of IQ.

Anybody taken any EQ tests?

NO ONE SHOULD TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY.

If you have gone though college or similar you need to be around 120 - 140 on these web tests cause you have a head start ..... says nothing about how well the machanical wheels in your brain turns or if you understand anything social or emotional.

I take these tests for fun befor I go to bed and as soon as 'Wisdome' is needed to score in the test I just laugh and shake my head.

I did do an engineering degree...and came out with a 1st class. The average University graduate in the UK (who gets a reasonable degree...not a 3rd etc) supposedly has an IQ of 120+. On the basis that I've done quite a few of these, some of which were not on the web but in employment tests, and averaged ~127 would make me think that they are not so far off the mark.

Besides, you're unlikely to see (or remember) a 'repeating question' of the form given in IQ tests, especially the visual ones such as the pilot test; it's not like asking who won the Battle of Waterloo http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Granted, there are IQ tests that operate on more levels (visual pattern, mathematics and logic, language) but I wouldn't dismiss these out of hand.

Wow...if this is the test for fighter pilots the one for bomber pilots must be really, really hard. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

And yes, these kinds of tests aren't indicitive of true intelligence, although they can suggest a proclivity towards a certain way of thinking.

Everyone learns differently and learning itself is a skill that can be taught. Your brain is a muscle (no, not really! You know what I mean...) and much more plastic than people supposed in the past.

145 here

I missed #7 #9 #13 #16 #17 #19

I think I spent 10 minutes total on the thing. While reading email and contemplating and upset stomach. #19 drove me nuts. So I dumped it and made a guess.

THese things do a fine job of testing abstract logic and patttern recognition, and how lazy / how quick one might give up on a bad problem.. Though the answer to the last one is only truley known to the taker of the test.

This is also probably a somewhat usefull test. In that is tests abstract thinking and pattern reconition. Anyone can learn the mechanics of level flight. But in a fight the folks who can process the external environment and make the correct conclusions is going to be the winner.

I should have the guy who I hire as my work on house projects assistant take the test. He might have a hard time scoreing a 0. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/784.gif

They are tough. One of the problems with this sort of test is also that sometimes it is possible to find more than one valid answer depending on what reasoning you use. In fact some have suggested that IQ tests should really include space to explain the reasoning you used to determine the answer for this reason. Some have even suggested that instead of multiple choice you should have to draw in the shapes with more points available for more possible options with valid reasoning. Only being able to see one way to approach something is sometimes how brittle software is written, for example, as the developer doesn't imagine anyone could approach the user interface or whatever with a different approach and break the software.

Take a look at the Super I.Q. Test on the same site......

Qoute:

16-25 From the right side (columns A B C D) choose the picture which logically fills the gap in the line of pictures on the left side.

All I see are the 3 boxes with symbols in them...immeadiatly followed
by the 'answers'........ no promised 'gap' anywhere-

I must be really dumb? Or is that part of the test? lol

Also the comment about explaining the reasoning behind ones answers seems a very good idea to me....... however, I only got 110 on the army pilots test- doh! I need a beer! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

It's not an IQ test, this test is only targeting specific mental qualities. Attention to detail, will this guy be able to discern types via visual details. Which way are these items manouvering, how do you predict number three according to the motions of the previous two, tactics recognition anyone? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Basically three dimensional problem solving, rotate, flip, add whats missing and recognize a quick solution. The qualities you want a combat pilot to be naturally good at.
