Great controller for the kiddies! But... not so much for those of us older than 10.

Well there's a lesson in this, Eugen, this is a prime example of not listening to your gaming community. Cause I'm sure if they (Sony) ran this controller idea by real gamers they would have been laughed out of the room.

BTW, Eugen, with the latest updates announced, you are listening to your community, BRAVO! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Yeah that's sad to hear, considering the fact that Microsoft is making it CLEAR that you do NOT need to stand up in order to use Kinect.

Apparantly you need the Navigator Controller for Move to actually work good.

The only current bundle is the $100 Sports Champions bundle that only includes the Move Controller, and Eye Camera with a collection of crappy mini games. Meaning you still need to buy the $30 Navigator Controller.

So basically I would need to spend $50 on the Move Controller, $40 on the Eye Camera, and then $30 on the Navigator Controller, and $120 is just too much imo.

If there was a $100 bundle with the Navigator Controller I might bite.

With the current bundle your actually paying $10 more dollars just to get a collection of crappy mini games.

http://boardsus.playstation.co...-games/td-p/45784150 (http://boardsus.playstation.com/t5/PlayStation-3-General/How-often-is-Navigator-controller-needed-for-Move-games/td-p/45784150)

I saw earlier Move developers holding DS controller in the left hand but it doesn't look very practical. DS controller isn't quite made for one hand holding while trying to press the D-pad and the Left analog stick.

But it is very odd that Sony doesn't have any Navigator controller with Move bundle $100 or PS3 console with Move bundle $400. It looks like Sony wants to make Move pricing to look "cheaper"

As long as it works decent with the PS3 controller that is what I will stick with. Really do not want to spend a extra $120.

Well my impressions from the GamesCom are that it needs a bit more fine tuning betweeen slow and fast actions while moving your camera point of view. Also its a bit buggy to point a building or unit you want to attack. As i tried to choose a HQ i wanted destroyed, i had to point the move controller around 5 to 10 centimeters away from that building.

It's still a unusual way to play, but i think with some training, this way to play could very well be compared to keyboard / mouse on a pc.

Played the ps3 demo today, got to say it looks amazing, but I didn't like the controls. Found it fiddly to pick the unit I wanted and the enemy to attack.
What the hell was the nuclear artillery about, what a load of crap!!!!!!!!! Please tell me that isn't in the real game.
If I do buy the game it will probably be on PC

i know it looks like a joke but aperently a couple of my friends tried it at some demo and said its deadly acurate, as for this hole tanding up and playing thing well thats just wrong and people need to stop posting it, the move can be used sitting or standing some games do require you to stand i doubt ruse is one.

oh and WTF is Kentic ?

Great news and I'm over 10 http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif
In fact I'm 39. I enjoyed the demo but using Move will be like playing with an optical mouse.
To clear up.....you don't need the Nav controller as the DS3 will work with every move game. That's why it's an extra and not in the move bundle.
Thanks Ubihttp://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

could care less how i look. as long as im more efficient with the way i play, i'm all over this thing. i NEED this for ruse very badly. it's getting irritating w controller, trying to select units and tell them where to go, having to move entire camera to where i want them to go.

i need this thing badly.

I have been playing it with ruse, its fantastic, pinpoint accurate, it's very similar to using a mouse on ruse.. you have a small round cursor on the screen - easy to select things and move around, much better than the controller, alot faster and much more precise.

Indeed it was, although not with nuclear shells http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Been playing Move with RUSE, and it's _really_ good. It takes a little getting used to, but once you're on top of it, it's phenomenal. The Dualshock control scheme is just fine, but once you've used Move, you won't go back. I have no doubt I'll play RUSE a whole lot more 'cos of Move support, it's just easier to control everything, which means you can focus on the game more http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif.

And for anyone saying you have to stand up and play, I've been lying almost horizontal on my recliner - only movement required is very small movements of the wrist. There's a sensitivity option for Move in there as well, nice one Eugen http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif.

I guarantee ya, that RUSE is the start of a new age of console games. It'll take a little while for console strategy players to wake up to how good an option for controlling games it is, but once they've played it (as long as they have a little patience to get used to it, and if they're don't have patience they're probably in the wrong genre of gaming http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif), they won't go back.

Only niggle is that there's still a bit of a 'snap to unit' with Move - it'd be nice to have that toggle-able. But for the first game to ever use Move, it's bloody phenomenal, great work http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif.

Thanks DrSteffie! Don't get me wrong, playing with Move is still far superior to the Dualshock (you did a great job with the Dualshock mind, it's just not as suited to this kind of gameplay as Move). Keep up the great work - I'll deffo be playing Move for a long, long time (played online today - it worked really well http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif), and keeping an eye out for Eugen's future projects http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif.

I'm assuming no port to wii? I guess the clone with a better processes and graphics card is a better idea....

I don't think most players care how they look when gaming because they're not in public most of the time when they game.

I just wanted to tell You guys that when I bought Move 2 weeks ago, my first thing was to check out the RUSE demo.

One thing is that You managed to implant the Move controls, during the development (which was a brave, and good decision)and I can tell you, that it is -in a way- better than the keyboard-mouse combo, of course better than playing with the dualshock 3. I mean its a whole new expreience, its very precise, responsive, easy to hande (with the navigator) and logic. I think its the future of strategy games (especially on the PS3).

Keep on the good work, thank You!

Does Move work in the dark?

Most of my gaming is after the family is asleep and I have to switch off the light where I play.

Axe99
09-29-2010, 05:24 AM
Aye, Move works in the dark fine (I just tested it then) - although the glowing bit of the Move casts a bit of light (a similar amount to the TV playing RUSE, or thereabouts).

Watch gaming in the dark too much though - not good for you eyes.

LOL huh? Because normally women are queuing up to see your awesome RTS playing prowess?

If you're worried about looking cool, buy 2 Move controllers and wear a flourescent yellow coat while you play and people may mistake you for a raver. Job done http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I think Move is the preferred way to play, although I find zooming the camera in and out a lot trickier. I guess I still need to get used to that aspect...

 I always find it funny when people talk about Move not looking cool. 'Cos sitting on a couch with a standard controller looks _so_ much cooler http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif.

And you'll get used to zooming in/out - it takes time, but it's second nature to me now.

I just bought PS Move and try it with RUSE. It was a very dissapointing experience! May be it's due to the fact that so far I have played the game with Dualshock 3 standard controller and already get used to it, but non the less playing with MOVE sucks...

How long have you given it Timekiller? Like anything new, there's a learning curve - for me, it was 2-3 hrs. Also, you can adjust the sensitivity of the pointer in the options screen, which helped me a bit. I also started playing RUSE with the DS3, but wouldn't go back now if someone paid me.

You gotta have patience. Remember the first time you used the DS3? How much time did it take for you to get used to it? Give Move the same time. You will be amazed, I promise you.
