Um... yeah... I couldn't find anywhere else to get to the devs so, here goes:
I'm a semi-professional writer (I've written game reviews that have gotten published and crud), though I'm only 17 (18 soon yay!). Anyway, I was reading the codex pages in Assassin's Creed 2 and I have to say, they were pretty deep. Well, the point of this, as stated in the article, is to ask if I can write a short story, not about Altair, or Ezio, but about another assassin, who joins the order after discovering the Truth (as ALtair stated people started to do in one of the codex entries) and, I know this is ambitious, but I would like the support of Ubisoft on this, to put it on their site for free. If necessary, I'll submit any writing samples, I'm pretty confident in my work since I've already paid for it. That, and it'd be a good way to get experience in writing stories for games, which happens to be my dream. Thank you for your time. I'll check back constantly and, if given permission, even write updates on the story.

David (a.k.a LordShikamaru)

P.S- Unlike all the other fan fics out there, this one will not involve Altair or Ezio, but will likely focus on a young man's discovery that everything he knows is a lie, and how he copes with the issue after deciding to join the Hashshashin.

UPDATE: I've gotten the idea of making this a community project. Lets see if we can make this a series of short stories that all interconnect with each other to form one large plot. I'd be great if we can get several different writers to write several different stories that connect, and to help each other with their own stories. I think that'd be a great idea and would show the Ubi community's writing skills. Whaddayall think?

Hello and welcome to the Forums http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif
Please take a moment to read the Forum Rules (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/5251069024/m/2961017947#VII), where you will see there is no bumping threads.

Regarding your question, I think your best bet is to send Atmon a PT.
Thanks http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

oops, forgive me for that infraction then. On a side note, I'll post up progress with the story as it comes along. It's not gonna have any of that usual nerdy fan fiction crud. I'm actually doing my research on choosing what locale to use, what ethnicity my character will be. Whether male or female. And Altair might note be in the story -.-. Thanks for the advice mate

Yay, another fanfic writer.
Although, I guess mine was "nerdy fan fic crud", I'm sure, to you. If you can stomach it, find AlexChii on fanfic.net <_<

anywhoo, wish you luck on your venture http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

lol I didn't mean to offend mate. I just find reading fan fic.... weird. This will actually be my first fan fic ever written. I usually do original stuff. But I'm captivated by the possibilities that the story of Assassin's creed has. Both in the past and future (altair/ezio-desmond). I could use help though, mainly on naming someone, and what ethnicity to use. I've never heard of AlexChii... but, fan fiction is a whole new area for me, so I guess I'll have to swallow that awkwardness and go on in......... D:

took me a bit to fish this thread out to find your reply (lol).
When I made my pen name, I wasn't feeling too creative at that point in time. Just two nicks I use constantly.

regarding ethnicity, I'm sure you could just about use anywhere, if you see in the sanctuary, there were assassins in every culture.

Unfortunately for me, and where my story ended (ok I lie, at the request of some of the ppl who had reviewed it, I've begun writing a second part to it.), it's attracted a lot of the Twilight fans (I don't even understand that). That's what I get for writing it with some romantic elements http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif

hmm hey this sounds like fun. Maybe Ill do a fanfic too among you guys hehehe.

However I am gonna send all the apple of eden and the ones who came before right where they came.

Ubisoft markets AC like a historic game so thats what I like and what I am takin.

Haha, I'm not having any romance in my story. In fact, my story, does involve the apple of eden, but I'm not saying how. I wanted the main character to be from africa because the assassin's, during Altair's age, were mainly in the holy land, and this novel takes place about 7 months after Altair "disappears". The main character is specifically from Egypt, and his name is Issa Rahotep; Issa means "God saves", and Rahotep means "Ra is pleased/satisfied". For his first name it was a tie between Issa, Khaldun (Immortal), Kamenwati (dark rebel), and other names, but Issa is shorter and easier to remember. I decided to divide the story into 3 or 4 parts, each pertaining to a certain aspect of his life before and during his time with the assassins. Whaddayall think? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif I've done a lot of my research, even the ending, which I actually don't want to spoil.....

Putting a lot of research into a story (even fanfic), is doing you a great service. You'll make your story end up coming out excellent http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I'm currently working on Ch 16 of mine... Finally found some of the pages I had written a week or so ago (before I started playing AC2 lol)
I'm assuming your OC is coming from Egypt, with a name like that? Honestly, I'd love to read it!

edit: I noticed I put the wrong name for the fanfic thing. It's AlexChiiru, my bad :P

haha, I already started writing the synopsis lol. And thanks for clarifying the name, I looked you up and I couldnt find anyone under that name. I'm assuming the website is fanfiction.net right? And yeah, I finally decided to make it 4 parts/chapters long. I made the character 28 years old, though he's 34 when he becomes a full fledged assassin. And I've included some stuff that kinda foreshadows events, and.. I dunno how to explain it, but in the end, altair was (kinda) included i nthe story, and the apple of eden he has too.

To Lord Shikamaru

not to get off topic, but I am fourteen (almost fifteen) and a video game designer (self proclaimed Semi-pro) I think I have you beat

Haha nice try mate. But, considering thaty in 6th grade I was at a college reading level, and I learned how to read in 4th grade. I finally got serious about being a game designer last year, and in 1 week I became a pretty good level designer and knew some coding, all while juggling college math courses, writing game reviews for a site. being some sort of unofficial guidance counselor, battling manic-depression (bipolar), skating, rollerblading, drawing, and having actual contacts in the game industry... I'm doing pretty good mate. I'm not in this crud for the money, fame, or bragging rights. All I wanna do is write the stories for games and, hopefully one day, will be the lead writer/designer for my own game. That's my dream, and sure, you may be younger, but I have 1 big advantage over you. I can start working sooner, and the game industry is over saturated. Just staying in school is hard, getting the job is even harder. But the best of luck to ya mate, you got talent http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif Make it shine XD, God knows we can use some talent and originality in the field >.>

sure http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif. What I really need help on is developing some personalities for the other assassins... since it;s been a while since I played the first AC, I kinda lost the main feel for the other assassins. I'm making some dark and mysterious, other's more open and friendly, but overall they act like how I feel assassin's would (in a way that would make Altair proud lol).

Malik
Age: In his younger years but has experiance in his work.
Gender: Male
Race: (Guessing Arabic?)
Personality----

Malik was a working soldier for the brotherhood, with his brother during the Third Crusade and during the time the apple of eden is discovered. Malik has always been more cautious, more than his brother and certainly more then Altair in the beggining. When the fateful moment that Altair's plan went wrong and Malik lost more then he could have gained. As of everyone in the brotherhood-- Malik was distanced from his parents, lost his brother and arm now. Now seeing how weak in combat he would have been to any further attacks in his condition, he quit his job to work at a bereau where things get lighter with him and Altair. Malik was the one who was with Altair all the way to the end and acted bravely when it came to the final battle. After, Malik became a right hand advisor for the new leader, Altair.

Like that in a way?

O.O yeah.. I actually did. I'm gonna make Malik the de facto leader of the Assassin's http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif. And now you just gave me an idea of making this an ubisoft community project short story. I still wanna write it -.-, but it'd be cool if we can get the entire community involved to make a series of short stories that are all interrelated, haha, man, you're pretty awesome XD

Coolio, and, with the option to make up some assassins on the way hehe. Well, you know you have me on your side on this, practice for my writing skillz makes a cjguy more happy >http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif......

rofl, well I always announce I'm a nerd/geek where ever I go XD. let me see if I can ask some of the ubi-men upstairs if we can make this a community project. That'd be awesome. The first game-based book, made by several members of a community... it;s genius XD. Oh, I'm also a decent editor... my editor yelled at me enough for him to like.... have some "bleeding effect" (haha liked how I worked that in!?) on me, so if ya need help, send me a P.M and I'll give ya me e-mail or IM name
