View Full Version : GIANT time gap in ac2

So ive been replaying all the games and i just finished ac2 but for the first time with both dlcs.
So wtf, SPOILERS**** savonorola steals the apple and ezio waits like 9the years to investigate his wherabouts, what happened in between?
And as a side note, ubi did a terrible job with the time progession or whatever. In venice 4or years go by before u kill emilio, theres like 3 missions in that time period. If u didnt check the dna folder and keep up on the shown time u would have no idea that it took 4 years for antonio and the thieves guild to prepare for the hit. Just an observation i made.

I agree that the time gaps are somewhat ridiculous, but it doesn't matter. As for the time gap between Sequence 12 and 13, the game AC2: Discovery takes place.

Yes I have always thought that the time progression in AC2 was done quite badly. It would of been better in my opinion if they would of at least made some filler Christina like or unrelated other small memories in between those spaces. I think another one of those moments I found bad, was when Ezio was training with Uncle Mario finding out about the Assassin's and Templar's. I think it was like 3 training sessions over the period of a year?
I found that ACB did it's time progression much better, although maybe it's just because it was over a smaller time period.

that time gap does bother me a bit, seeing as how i have all the DLC and there is still missing stuff... but i got over it pretty fast

also ezio was doing contracts and other side stuff in between main story missions

This doesnt have anything to do with the topic, but when i was on the final mission of ac2 i couldnt stop myself from comparing rome in it to acb's rome. Wow what a differnce, they look so much different. And my final off topic thing (really my question was answered so it doesnt matter anyway) i literally put acb in right after beating ac2 and was like http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif
it looks so much better. Ezios beard didnt look like it was pasted on and the game didnt look glossy or whatever. Yay for my pointless post! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/partyhat.gif http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/bigtears.gif

AC2 did have some problems with that, yes. I think they got in trouble because they wanted the story to span more than 30 years, but they didn't want to make enough missions to fill every year realistically. Hence some awkward skips.

Ezio spent twelve years trying to learn the identity of Savonarola; he didn't wait twelve years.

Since its too late to add this with Revelations, they should give away some extra content (the skipped years) with certain packages when they release ACIII next year, just to add some extra content and fill in the holes. Then they could also add DLC a few months after release.
