The memory walls are stupid
If you think about it like a real human being then basically this means that

In 1191 Altair saw a blue wall and thought oh gosh i cant go through there.
anyone get me?

But it's a memory. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

Obviously they were not actually there in 1191. -_-

They are simply restrictions to keep Desmond sync'd with Altair. That's the Animus, not history.

Yeah its the animus.

In my opinion I think the sci-fi element to the game was f****** stupid... seriously Ubisoft you take like 3-4 years to make this game about the crusades and you put a sci-fi thing in it? Not cool... not cool. I think it would have been better if you just played as Altair, alone in that era, not Desmond playing with his ancestorial memory... that SUCKED!!!

its NOT about the crusades. the series is about desmond and the modern assassins vs templars struggle. it makes perfect sense to have modern elements in the game, as it is modern technology that enables desmond to even relive the past. the past part of the game was added to push the story, not the other way around...

I'm pretty sure they wrote the story before they made the game, *******. They didn't start making a Crusade game and then halfway through, decide "Oh, let's put sci-fi stuff in there!"

The people that complain about the futuristic aspects of AC are the ones that never truly understood the storyline.

So it is no surprise that they didn't like it.

obvs i liked the game http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

but think about it this way
they are reading a memory from the past
looking at what happened
so that means that in 1191
altair saw a wall and thought no i cant synch
smart people get me
anyways
i do understand the story u idiots

kal3l79

TBH you shouldn't assume that someone who doesnt like the future aspect of it, doesnt understand the story. Just because they would have rathered it be all old time, doesn't make them stupid.

I'm only half way through the game at the moment but I guessed early on the basics, thats it age old war stuff that still ongoing today etc, as soon as the guy said he used to be an assassin. lol but like I said I only half way through but to take a guess I'm guessing that they want to use desmond memories to try and find out where the assassins hid that magic arc treasure (thats not a spoiler I'm just speculating).

I've understood the storey so far, but I still sit through it wishing I could press start and skip the scene, but incidenly I dont mind sitting through the old time bits.

The game is stil awesome, just harder getting into the character when u being dragged out of it every time you do a mission.

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif ... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif

It is still the Animus. It has an affect on what Desmond is seeing/experiencing. Like Lucy said with the language. It is still all the Animus. If Desmond had wandered to the areas with the blue walls, he would have lost sync with Altair, because those were not areas that he had gone to at that time. So the Animus had the walls there to keep Desmond in sync with Altair.

Like I said. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

Smart people get you? Ha ha. You don't have to be smart to "get you". You think you are smart? You are not. You are a ******BAG. The walls stop desmond from going where Altair did not go. So Altair didn't see them. If he would have went where the walls are, then the walls would be elsewhere. Get it? ******

kal3l79

Actually I'm sure that when you go back to these cities for further missions you do actually enter the areas where the blue walls once stopped you, so it's not a case of Altair never had been there.

I think it's meant to be that the machine is kinda keeping that area out of bounds for time being, to allow desmond to concentrate on the tasks at hand. Like somehow foucusing his memories to want it wants to know at that time.

That's pretty much what I said/meant. You DO go there later, but not at that time(obviously).

Like I said: the Animus put the walls up to keep Desmond synced with Altair. Altair had not gone to those areas at that time, so it would be made so that Desmond could not either, to stay synced.
