Strange I have no problem with Firefox.

the problem is that all cookies are being set to session expire (close of browser). If your have been using the same login cookies for a while, you'll not notice the problem.

The solution is to log onto the forum, and before you close your browser, edit your ubi.com cookies to expire sometime in the distant future. forums.ubi and secure.ubi don't matter.

This (http://addneditcookies.mozdev.org/) extension will make it easy work for firefox. There are alternatives for IE too, but it's more of a haste. (but being IE users, your used to that http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif)

The logging in every single time I want to write is indeed annoying and sometimes it refuses to let me edit...

But it does have a positive point in giving me a few extra seconds to consider whther a post is worth posting or not. Many times I`ve cancelled cos it`s just not worth it. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I use Firefox, too - I cannot stay logged in either, though http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

What version of the FireFox do you use? I use 1.5.0.3, but also tried with 1.6 - same result.

UBI store didn't honor your login cookie, it forced you to re-enter you UN and PW which set the new session expire cookies. This is why so many ppl are having the problem now.

I've never edited a cookie by hand. There are 3rd party programs that will do it for you. this (http://www.topshareware.com/Cookie-Editor-download-4659.htm) shareware program is supposed to work w/ IE, but I haven't' tried it.

I do know that cookies are set w/ the java date object and that will be stored as a long number and be equal to the number of milliseconds after midnight January1st 1970.

This is one of those advanced user tricks. I seem to remember that it's best to edit IE cookies using the command prompt, but I don't remember why. (probably because notepad wants to set a file extension and cookies don't use them)
