I've found it incredibly hard to read the dials and gauges that are in the cockpit. I've seen screen shots with "virtual dials and gauges", for lack of a better phrase. (four dials in sets of two near the bottom of the screen) Is this only available in the WW mode? Is there a way to bring them up for flying a bit less by the seat of your pants? Thanks.

WW mode?

I believe you are refering to the "speedbar" it's a realism option.

WW mode = No cockpit (Wonder Woman is what I took it for, considering the context of not being able to see your plane in that mode)

Actually no, at least I think not. When I activate the "speed bar option" I get three lines at the bottom left of my screen that gives me my altitude, speed, and heading. What I'm talking about is different, but describes the same information with what looks like (I hate trying to describe things that I'm not familiar with, not being a pilot I'm not sure what it's called) the mechanical horizon?

If I can find a screen shot I'll post it for clarification of what I'm talking about.

U are right snaphoo, there is such an option
Check your manual on disk.

I dont remember what its called but i tried it at some point.

Personally i prefer the speedbar Yellonet speaks about. this is showed in left down corner when enabled and show speed ,altitude and compass heading.(often used online)

If I remember it is CTRL-F1 (default).
Only works on servers that do not have 'Cockpit always on'.

Ok... thanks... I should have read the manual... I didn't think about that... but then I'm no where near the manual at present... At work and saw a screenshot that I liked and thought I'd ask about it. I'll give it a shot, if it doesn't interfere with my game play I'll keep it, but if it only shows up in no cockpit then I'll probably just use the speedbar... Thanks again.

You can eventually learn to read the guages even if you can't read the numbers clearly but can see where the dial points, especially if you fly one plane type mostly you get "familiar" with the guages.

Also, try setting Dynamical Lights = 0 in "conf" file, seems to brighten up the cockpits alot, but some planes this won't let night cockpit lights work -- I~153 for example.
