Well piss. "Tabs" don't work when you copy and paste. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

Hopefully the people that need the info can tab it out again if they copy it.

Thanks Crash, but that Mk. 1 Hurri belongs in the Axis as a Finnish plane, as far as this sim is concerned. I always thought that Oleg should have made it flyable on BOTH sides!! I will look for other mistakes for you..

Looks like you left out the Yak-7BPF version. I know how easy it is to leave out one here or there only too well. Everything else looks okay to me. (http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif)

Thanks for posting Crash

I'm looking forward to seeing the Platinum case when it's released. People will pick it up in a store who know nothing about IL2. Read the 140+ flyable aircraft on the back & take it home with them.

Oleg & Team have made the flight sim come of age. It's one h3ll of a benchmark for future sims. They have the right to be very proud.

The B-17 is not normally flyable aircraft. But online, using a special technique, any plane can be flown. But if it's normally unflyable, you can only fly it from external views since it doesn't have a cockpit. If Crash had to include that, he'd have to include all the planes in the sim as flyable. But most only consider them truly flyable
if they can be flown offline and have a cockpit.

You would think that some marketing genius at UBI would spread that information out to the world. It might increase sales of Oleg's products.

how can i fly the plane that lands in water!!!!!!!!!!!!

The A6M2-N (Rufe) is flyable in PF. This is the floatplane version of the Zero. I made a 9 mission campaign for it and it works in PF standalone. See below.

Good catch! Certainly right. I don't know how I missed that.

194 planes!

(I'm not counting that second TB-3 that hangs the I-16s, since it is the same aircraft)

Was the Ki-100 a '45 bird? I'm at work and can't check.

Yep, looks like it was. The decision of starting its developement was made in late '44, but all the remaining history, from prototype's first flight to operational usage was 1945.

Cheers - Art

Makes me feel all spoiled, haha. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

Someone should tally the number of actual [primary] WWII aircraft models and post a fraction of how many we have flyable, that would be an interesting comparison...still, excellent work, can't wait to see the flood of new guys we'll get with release of the platinum pack http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif.

Hurri I can go either way. So can the J8A. So I'm just leaving them where they are.

Yak-7BPF? I have no idea what that is. We have the Yak-7A and Yak-7B. Both of which are present. What are you refering to?

mortoma
02-13-2006, 05:39 PM
Only a couple of patches ago, Oleg put in the PF engined version of the Yak-7B!! You didn't know that?? It was in the same patch as the boosted P-47D. It has the M-105 PF engine and is faster than both the Yak-7A and the regualr Yak-7B!!
It's also just called the Yak-7B 1942, since the regular Yak-7B is a 1941 plane. Look in the QMB list, or in FMB, you'll see it.

Here's from the readme from patch 4.02m:

<span class="ev_code_RED">Flyable aircraft:</span>

Yak-7B, 1942
- M-105 PF engine
- 515 km/h at sea level
- 360 turn time (sustained) at 1,000 m - 20 sec
- CoG too close to the nose

Notice: This aircraft was released after many requests from online players on both sides that play historical sets for 1942 Eastern front. It was easy to release even with our complete lack of time.

P-47D, 1944 *
150 octane and increased boost pressure. Performance almost like P-47M

No sh*t. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif

I had no idea. lol They should have given it a better name than just Yak 7B 1942. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

A6M2-N (I think this is the right mark) is flyable ...it lands on water.

I'm sure you've checked it out by now, but yes, it was a 1945 bird. It was a desperation move, bolting a big, wide engine bomber engine on available fighter frames.

I've flown this sim/game since early 2002 and still haven't flown more than probably around 100 of those planes... amazing!

Well, if you exclude a/c that are essentially one and the same airframe (Bf-109F == BF-109G, Corsair = F4U) you end up with 59 genuinely different planes (counting types only).
Or should I say, 59 cockpits? (but I did count the bf109Z as a different plane)

Which is still quite impressive. But 195 is just not a realistic figure, 60 feels more right to me.

The large print giveth and the small print taketh away.

Me, I'm going with the large print - 195 flyables ain't bad (and thanks Crash for sharing http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif )

I'm showing 199 distinct selectable pits. But then I am counting all that you have plus the Mistal (really a FW190 A-8 with an unusual loadout http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif)and the SBD versions of the I-16 and the TB-3.

I understand why some wouldn't count these, but I do because they can be distinctly selected in the FMB as flyable.

I also have listed a F6F-3 Hellcat (not late). I don't have the game in front of me so I can't confirm it at the moment.
