Poking around in the FAQs, I found that Revelation has a problem with the latest driver version 61.77. It is recommended that you download an older version 56.72 from Nvidia.com

The question centered around the Hint levels not displaying.

Various games seem to be having problems with 61.77 according to the the support forums.

The latest NVidia drivers are the "ForceWare 66.81 Win2000/XP WHQL" at the top of this page. They've been confirmed good by many people and I'm using them also on my GT6800.
It might be worth trying these first :-

Thanks Mr. Blonde,
Just adding some feedback. I tried both old and new. They add lag time to accessing the game options book but increase transitions while in the game by a couple seconds.

My system-
HP- 2.2ghz celeron
Geforce FX 5200 (PCI-alas no AGP slot)
and a NEW- TDK(indi)DVDR because...wait a minute..("FEED ME, Seymour, FEED ME") -
This guy's worse than HAL. I only meant it to be an office computer. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

I have:

P4 2.6GHz
1 GB ram
FX5200 in AGP 4x (128MB video ram)
LCDs running at 1280x1024 and 1024x768.
Full 8GB installation on a 160GB HD with 60GB free.

The transitions in the game are choppy and very slow. The cursor lags so much that it almost ruins the game for me and I have to turn off the three optional settings in the video settings of the game. If I turn on all three then it is simply unplayable.

I hesitate to install any driver not on the NVidia site, are those drivers mentioned above considered to be stable? Is that the same company that provides drivers to NVidia?

With the latest NVidia drivers 61.77 I solved some minor problems I had with some graphics programs and a dual monitor setup that I have so I'm a bit reluctant to uninstall them and start my video setup from the beginning again but if it improves Myst's transitions considerably then I may take the plunge.

Are others with the FX5200 notice very noticeable slowness in Myst4? It seems disappointing that a system with so much more power than the recommended reqs for Myst is still very slow. I know a $450 video card will fly but I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong on my end.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Unfortunately the 61.77 drivers have some bugs that don't appear to be fixed until 68.11 (the beta drivers)...

The Beta Driver at the guru site above, downloads from Nvidia. It's a beta driver. Seems to be working ok for me. Better in game transitions but slow to access the "game book".

yes, 66.81 worked perfectly for me too.

I tried to find a previous post that was made about dual monitors. I don't know which card they were using. But, it said to disable the dual setting.

Thank you for the reminder. I was thinking of doing this to see if it improves the game performance but I have several things going in the background on the second monitor (not video or processor intensive at all) and I can't turn them off at will and devote the whole PC to a game. But it may be useful when I decide to spend some time with Myst. Thanks again.
