Hi,

OK, so the patch has only been out for a femtosecond but can LW fliers post their opinions on the strength of the guns with v2.01?

I'm still downloading here....and looking forward to the Spit 9 and fixed guns! (I notice the readme says nothing of the latter)

Cheers,
Norris

LW guns brutal, all calibres. But as dedicated LW jock for a long time.. i`ll tell ya one thing... stay away from 50 cal, as far as possible http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Kozhedub: In combat potential, the Yak-3, La-7 and La-9 fighters were indisputably superior to the Bf-109s and Fw-190s. But, as they say, no matter how good the violin may be, much depends on the violinist. I always felt respect for an enemy pilot whose plane I failed to down.

Hi,

So, does that mean they are different as they often seemed far less than brutal in AEP 2.0 ?

I always steer clear of .50s...but even my rear deflector can't keep them out of my 190 gunsight ;-)

Talking of which:

Any changes to the .50 dispersion?
Any changes to the 190 gunsight falling off in bright sunlight/if the runway is a bit bumpy/one mg bullet into the cockpit panel?

Cheers,
Norris

Well, I try stay clear of enemy fire period, but thanks for the tip http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

So, now the cat is out of the bag, what exactly has been done with the M2's? tighter dispersion or is there more to it than that?

"As weaponry, both were good, but in far different ways from each other. In a nutshell, I describe it this way: if the FW 190 was a sabre, the 109 was a florett, or foil, like that used in the precision art of fencing." - Gunther Rall

I don`t believe dispersion changed much, but hitting power of 50s increased by good margine.

No, 190s sight doesn`t fell off anymore, only when bullets go thru cockpit - usually pilot ends up being wounded too.

Remembers me to the most fatal hit I ever scored on a fighter with the MK 108.. i checked it on arcade mode.

Briefly.. single hit on the right wing. Explosion rips the wing section off, fragments stop the engine, another fragment sets the fuel tank on fire, and if that`s still not enough, a third fragment it hit the pilot as well... in his head = Headshot, PK. The guy really had an unlucky day !

I felt as being kinda unfair with him. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/59.gif

"We've got the finest tanks in the world. We just love to see the German Royal Tiger come up on the field".
- Lt. Gen. George S. Patton, Jr. Febuary 1945.

"One day a Tiger Royal got within 150 yards of my tanks and knocked me out. Five of our tanks opened up on him at ranges of 200 to 600 yards and got 5 or 6 hits on the front of the Tiger. They all just glanced off and the Tiger backed off and got away. If we had a tank like that Tiger, we would all be home today."
- Sgt. Clyde D. Brunson, US Army, Tank Commander, February 1945

The guns are most definatly fixed now. 20mm's are absolutely deadly now. It takes about 4-5 20mm hits from the MG151 to blow a Yak-3 in half which matches the historical record. I gave the Me-163B a try as well to see if it was now actually flyable, it is and the MK108 is a 1 shot killer, atleast against Spit Mk.IXe's. Gunners also seem to be more effective now which is nice. No more flying up behind 12xB-17's and firing at point blank range with no worries of getting hit. BTW, the B-25's light up nicely when you put some 20mm in their engines, just beware the gunners, they can shoot straight http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif.

What`s a femtosecond?

Anyway, I concur with the above. STAY OUTTA THE WAY OF THE GUNS!

I dont wanna be a smartass but:

a femto-second is 10^(-15 ) seconds...so that's VERY few hehe.

about the patch:
good to hear that all weapons, especially the german 20 and 30mm, have been fixed!
Now I would like to hear if some of the concrete planes of AEP 2.0, namely the Spits, P63, KI-84 and Ta152H, have been fixed...
