You see there were some on board radar equipped WW2 Fighter such as Me-262A-1B, Bf-110 With FuG Radar and Heinkel/Junker bomber with anti-ship radar, just hope these "advanced tech" could appear in this great game. (Or we couldn't fight easily after 21:00 either)
And WW2 Missiles are also exciting
First operational AGM:Hs-293 or kramer X-4 radio-command AA
The game was called "forgotten battles" yeah we shouldn't forget those frontier weapons. lol http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

There is no need for radar as the AI can see in the dark and afaik radar cannot be recreated in this sim Try BOB

Game engine was never designed for anything like that...thats a pretty substantial undertaking modeling a working and useful radar, combinging that with AI routines, and all of the other things affected by said system.

Remember that originally the game was to have a single flyalbe aircraft...the IL-2. Everything since then has been an effort to add in content and ability. Even carriers was said to be extremely difficult...they did them so well but it wasn't easy as I understand it.

Oleg has mentioned radar and night fighter ops will be possible in the BoB engine. Thats why its ground up brand new stuff.

I remember Oleg said something like that, yes. Be patient and do as we do: Look forward to BoB and hopefully next E3 http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Hopefully Oleg designed the BoB engine to be far more modular, like Valve's Source engine, so that we can add things like RADAR as we go.

I just took a look at IL-2 Sturmovik v1.2ov ...

- QMB offers 50 total flyables.
- Eighteen of those were added in patches to the boxed game.
- Of the 32 flyables originally included in the boxed game, 10 were variants of the IL-2 -- the sim was definately designed around the IL-2 Sturmovik (hence the name. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif ).
- The remaining 22(?) flyables was comprised of variants of a few Soviet fighters and a short list of Bf 109s and FW 190s for the Luftwaffe.

The flyable I-16s, Stuka, P.11c, BI-1 plus additional Yaks, MiGs, 109s and 190s came later with the patches, and there never were any flyable multi-engined bombers or German jets/rocket planes.

And in case you're wondering: there were only 15 total maps in FMB, five of which were designated as "online" maps.

We've come a long way, hmmm?

I can just see it now in BOB with working radars, Spitfires versus F4 Phantoms on 334th Dedicated

Oh those glorious IL2 v1.0 days! =D I was completely shocked by the fantastic graphics, DM/FM, and the amount of planes it had even back then. And yes, we have come quite a "lengthy" way.. =D

Maddox games started the development of this game with the goal to have only one plane flyable in this sim - the IL2 and its variants.

that they changed their plan is obvious http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
