Sorry if this has been posted, but worth a second post. Some of the clearest gun camera videos I've ever seen.

Thanks, interesting shots.

At 02:08, something being strafed on a road `flipped` or jerked about. It was too big to be a man. Was that a horse being shot?

eew you're right, if you frame by frame it you can actually see the horse try to turn and run.

If you think that guncam looks good there, you should see it on DVD. I don't think all of the opening sequence is guncam shot from P-47s though. Whoever posted it, spliced two different films together. A lot of the P-47 film came from a documentary called "Thunderbolt".

That was a horse in frame 2:08. At the end of the war, fuel shortantes and lack of trucks was so bad, they used horse and buggy to deliver ammo. There are a few films of horse buggies exploding from ammo going off.

Thar's your tiger kill.

It looks like there are actually 4 or 5 objects there.

It seems like the wagon spilled it's cargo.

Forget the horse, how about that explosion at 3:10? Wow!

At about 3:15 to 3:20-ish, the airfield strafing wasn't too impressive. Looked like the pilot was pulling back on the stick while squeezing the trigger, or he was fighting poor trim in the shallow dive. Either way, his shots kept going high.

At 00:16, is that another P-47 flying across the screen? And is it a Fw-190D that is being shot at?

What was amazing to me was the concentration of fire from one aircraft. When the pilot walks his fire up to the hangers. It must have been a living nightmare to have been in the infanty when a squad of P-47's came strafing.

Very nice but I dont think much of this is new footage,
also its definatly a 109 being shot at there Ramjaeger, best way to tell is the tail wheel

I also like how many fires the strafing P-47's caused. Late in the film, you can see a huge spout of flame from a bombers wing! I wish you could light aircraft up like that in IL2.

horses made the bulk of "mechanized" whermacht transport from the start until the end of the war Gib..some tactical, and many strategic decisions took into account livestock feed stores, and grazing areas for horses (this was even more true during WWI)

Either that was from the footage recently found in the U.S. National Archives or it was taken from the superb History Channel doc on the P-47 based on this footage which was shown in their (I believe) "WWII in Color" series of a few years back. It is well worth getting. The footage was of a P-47 squadron in the last days of the war. It was operating in Germany.
