Dont we kind of need a mediterranean map first?

Ahh, but an Italian campaign would be really nice with a nice Med map... We can only dream...

A Med, North Africa and Malta map, along with a flyable MC 202 would be terrific!

All the best, Don

Doing a Mc. 200 and then later Mc 202 Southern Russian Front campaign should be easy enough based on current maps in the game when we get those aircrafts flyable.

I fully agree about the need for Med/North African maps, but we can still get an accurate Italian Fighter campaign for Southern Ukraine/Russia when those 2 aircrafts make it in.

On another note, it appears that we may have lost Radek, the modeller of the Mc 200, or at least so it seems. Do not know the state of the model in reference to Maddox's standards. Mc 202 looks like should make it.

Thanks guys!

I agree. I made a italian fighter pilot campaign using the kuban maps. Simulates sicily and the Greek theatre pretty good. Flight distances are realistic too. 125km to malta from bases in sicily. Real cool.

Well, I'm really happy to see that so much pilots agreed with me. Oleg, if you need some speech in italian, I bet it's full of italian pilots that would be happy to help!! "Attento a ore 6!!!!" A Stalingrad or Kuban campaign is good... But a Med or desert map would be better! We only need desert skins (and many skinners have already done it) and Mitchells and Marauders... And maybe some italian bombers over malta? S79?
Ciao a tutti!

Is there anyone working on a "complete pack" like the ones for the RAF and French? Ranks, medals, speech pack...

I know that Italy also used the Ju87, 109 and 110, but I don't know if they used them on the Eastern Front. Anyway, there are still the online maps for Med scenarios. Unless Oleg comes up with a better map http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Undercarriage lever a bit sticky was it, Sir?

Italy on Eastern front used only Macchi C.200 (51) and C.202 (12) as fighters, and BR20, Ca313/314 as bomber/reconnaissance, plus some S.81 and others types as transport planes..
The Ju87 were used in Mediterranean theatre, North Africa and Greece and Jugoslavia, the Me 109 (F,G and some K models) were used from 1943 in South Italy, then in North Italy after armistice, with Aeronautica Nazionale Repubblicana colors.
The Regia Aeronautica had got only 3 Bf110C, used mainly in training and in some night fighter mission...
So, in the Eastern front we need some Macchi's planes, C.200 and C.202...thanks in advance, Oleg! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

We need pacific v2 after the pacific add-on and probabily pacific + after pacific v2;
also China and Korea and maybe Texas and fort Alamo too!! Pacific was never done before! (as BoB)........
Who cares about the Med!

About the italian speech pack: the italian community has recently re-started this project which was dying by starvation; at the moment we have all of the correct italian sentences to be recorded (validated by real life ww2 veteran), a set of speakers and the setup for editing the recorded stuff.

I don't want to give dates for a release, because I'm not the project maintainer and also because there are at least nine people still involved in things to do (recording speeches), but if everybody does its work in a timely fashion we will have the voice pack soo.

A sample test of the final output:

There is ALWAYS a point to installing, pdog http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
We have the FMB so making Italian missions is possible, even if not 100% historical.

It should be possible to tweak the campaigns in Lowengrin's DCG utility to make an Italian campaign. No speech pack for the moment, but IIRC there were no radios installed in the CR42s.
