Uhm, from what I understand, you want Ubisoft to make the game like you don't need a disc anymore.
Since this will make piracy even easier, this idea is kinda bad.

They might release a no CD patch sometime, they've done that for other games after they've been out a while.
Having said that, it's just been announced on the German forums for one game, that they've withdrawn support for no DVD in the drive due to "abuse", which is a bit awkward, as it was a fix for the drive/copy protection clash bug, that asked users with some drives and certain software installed, to "insert the DVD in the drive"

Yup, ik ben Nederlands. Trouwens, het is "divorced" en niet "deforced". "deforced" betekent zoiets als "ontkracht" http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

On Topic (And English again):
I don't think they are gonna make the disc un-needed, really http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif
Mainly because, like I said, piracy will have no trouble at all uploading 1 good version, and noone would buy the original, since they don't even need a disc http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

There is simply no legal solution, sorry http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

they will eventualy make a file so you dont need the disc? you do realise how long the game has been out dont you? 90% of games are cracked on day 1 http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/shady.gif

I don't see anything wrong with no-DVD patches as long as you legally bought the game.

technicaly it is ok due to a loop hole in copy rite laws but the game devs dont like it as it premotes piracy.

*In response to Lhorkan*

That may be so, but anyone who wants to be recognised could upload the patch, and then every downloader would be able to play it easily http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/shady.gif

Which is, in terms of marketing, BAD

The cancelled "no DVD" support I mentioned, needed an online activation to verify the install, and still required the input of the game key, but it was being abused by people exploiting this to install on multiple computers.
Which is why they cancelled the online activation for the game in question.

I think you'll still be ok cas, unless you re-install, that's when you'll need the disc again, although, if you get the expansion you might need to, it needs the original disc in the drive, not the expansion disc.

@ LolHoofdje
caswallawn and I were talking about a different game we both play, Settlers 6.
