Can someone confirm that the red bearing lines that are displayed on the naviagtion screen are active sonar recognition by my crew?

The manual doesnt appear to really state how these lines come up.

The red ones are warships, the black ones are merchants.
It's a passive system. The sonar-guy tries to estimate the range.
You may plot the course of a ship by marking the endpoints of the frequently updated bearing-line.

So the endpoints of the bearing-lines represent the exact location (distance-wise) of the associated ship.

No, those are estimates.

It is safe to assume the closer the end-point is to your boat the more accurate it is. If it is far away then it could be off by a few hundred meters.
