Who's got what going with the new Burma map?

I'd kill for a very, very well done AVG campaign (a la "When Tigers Could Fly"... Chuck? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif )<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

some special place in Burma is fps killer. I don't think you can fight when you only get 4-5 fps.

That special place would be Imphal, on the left top corner of the map? I don't go there anyway, because I don't like to see the "edge of the world", it really kills immersion for me.

However, Burma looks wonderful! Shame about those airfields so close to the edge of the map, but I think it's possible to build a campaign with some custom made airfields and the only usable airfield that isn't near edge... ?<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

?Chuck_Older? is now a retired usernamehttp://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
The real Chuck Older died and in deference to my aviation hero, I requested retirement for that name.

That doesn?t mean that I haven?t been very, very busy with an AVG campaign. Click link for my progress report:

http://mission4today.com/index.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=132

I actually have made more headway this week, just not reported in the thread. The Magwe section is now 90% complete. I?ve changed and revised things to reflect as many historical details as I reasonably can

Unfortunately, as nice as the Imphal (?Burma?) map is, it?s not really suitable for an AVG campaign. Any ?well done? AVG campaign would need to use it exceedingly sparingly, if even at all, I?m afraid. It?s just not the right place in Burma http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif Too bad Ian didn't have the time to do a gigantic map of Burma in it's entirety

I?ve updated my ?Kuban/Rangoon?, ?Lvov/Magwe?, and ?Balaton/Kunming? maps extensively.

From memory, here?s what I?m using in the campaign re-make:

Balaton1 (Yunnan Province, China)
Smolensk (IndoChina)
Online4Summer (Salween Gorge)
Lvov (Northern Burma)
Prokhorovka (Thailand)
Kuban (Southern Burma)
Singapore1 (Haiphong area)
Moscow1 (Central Burma)
Kursk (Kwangsi Province, China)

For an idea of what the maps are like, you can download my Kwangsi map at mission4today. Do a search for downloads by ?Chris_Blair? (that's me http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif ). Also, mission4today is where I?m putting my skin packs for the campaign, there are two there already, those two skin packs are the P-40Es I?ve skinned for the campaign. The skins won?t be available for download with the campaign because I?ve already got about 100MB in the campaign, without skins or cutscenes- just missions http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif Over sixty missions total. Of course no AVG pilot flew every mission and of course some of mine didn't happen, but I can't do a 100% accurate campaign with this sim anyway<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

"BBB462cid" doesn't roll off the keyboard quite the way "Chuck" did. Is that going to be permanent?

Well, luckily you don't have to say it, just type it http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

You can call me Chuck if you like but my name is Chris

The name change is definitely permanent. The man's dead, and I shouldn't have even used the name when he was alive, case closed<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Great! After I made this thread I yanked out a few old books and maps and came to the same conclusion you stated above, that the Burma map we got is unfortuneately a little limited... Heading over to Mission4Today to grab your latest. Thanks for all the hard work!<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I'm hoping someone will make an RAF SEAC Spitfire VIII or P47 Campaign for that map.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Well, if you download Ian Boy´s Burma Dgen pack, you can generate USAAF, RAF and IJA dynamic campaigns in the Burma theatre.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
