Good job Jiri! I dont fly stand alone for the fact that I refuse to fly UBI. And many that remain there are there because of PF stand alone. Im sure they will be pleased. I will start spreading the word in UBI lobby right now that PF stand alone is now on HL. Heck I might even install stand alone version myself now http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Indeed it has. But it lacks features, and interface in crappy. HL is where the community hangs out. And it is where game play such as the Virtual Online Wars are held as well as COOPS. You also have the Ghost Skies ladder tournament. I have used ASE for other games and never really taken a liking to it. Also you have to pay to use all its features, with HL you do not. Jiri offers this great service free of charge. But this is just my opinion...others are sure to feel different.

If hyperlobby is so great, what is all the warnings posted by that guy at hyperlobby.com?

If it's true that you are open to attack as he says, that's not a good thing, no matter where the community hangs out. UBI aint bad, but I have nothing to compare it to though, and granted that guy sounds a bit disgruntled and probably biased, but his info is pretty interesting. I found it by accident while looking for Hyper lobby one day.

That guy has a personal vendetta against Jiri and is to be considered a nutcase to which no attention shall be paid.

HL is far less dangerous to your computer than IE6 and/or MSN.

This room is running fine today.

Any chance of a sticky for this topic till the word gets around?

Could someone please post this news on the SimHQ IL2 forums?

Thanks a lot!

I was wondering, since you do all of this for free, is there a way to make a donation for your hard labor? I really appreciate your work and instead of buying a license for ASE, I could make a donation.

I tried the faq and forum search on your site, but couldn't find it.

Does anyone know what happened to the server that was supported by HL?

They had a dedicated server for Stand-Alone.

Hey, IronSight! Wondered where you went.

The standalone server is still there. I don't think they've moved to the Pacific Fighters room on HL yet but since HL is down right now I can't check.

Regardless, you can still get there using IP. It's 69.9.37.146:21006 (just tried it to make sure).

It's kinda dead though. Everybody is having a blast on the Zeke vs. Wildcat server. I personally have been hanging out at the Warbirds_PT_LW server (Pacific Theatre Late War; formerly Raptors_PT).

All three are great though....

Jiri, you are at least equal rank to the best of the 3rd party volunteer modellers in the Halls of Il-2 Fame. Thanks so much for hosting Hyperlobby!

Hey Crash. We need a way other than these boards to stay in contact dude.

Hopefully the Stand-Alone server finds it's way to HL. At least then it will be more publisised.

Maybe PM me your email if that's at all possible with these boards.

Poked around a little and couldn't find a way to send personal messages (checked forum help also). Maybe someone here knows of a way.

Staying on topic, Jiri's magnificent creation HyperLobby has a paging feature but I believe we both have to be online at the same time to use it.

Might be a moot point though. I'm leaving next Sunday for a two week business trip and when I return we'll (hopefully) start moving into the new home we're building. Unfortunatly it happens to be sitting in the middle of a corn field on a dirt road. No cable. No DSL. Bye, bye broadband. Bye, bye e-mail address. Back to rabbit ears and a land line. (sigh).

since I downloaded HL, I like it. So far no horror stories as I've been told about on UBI... musta been some jaded folk.

Anyway... I've been pulling most my regulars over to HL with me, last night had 8 of my regulars as well as more that have downloaded HL. I've also asked a few of the regular hosters on UBI to check out HL and host there instead. Hopefully the word will spead and we'll start seeing more and more in the PF room.

Thanks much.

There are horror stories? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

Last ones I heard were about the HL invasion of Ubi when HL was down for a little maintence. That really put the ace among the newbies.
