This is just a fun brainstorming topic for coming up with new information gathering missions.

My only idea at the time is a collection of the various existing information gathering missions into 1 mission.

Follow an NPC to a quiet area and interrogate them. You have multiple choices in what you say in order to get as much useful information as possible.
Let them go. The NPC will high tail it to another area. Keep up with them without being seen. This would involve working out 'lines' of quick travel similar to the flag gathering missions.
Once at the NPC's destination, you find he squeals to another NPC about your interrogating him. As they walk around talking, stay close enough to hear their conversation while remaining undetected.
Once they are done talking and part ways, kill them both before they reach their destinations to inform their friends about you.

During this mission, sufficient success in your interrogation of the first NPC and eavesdropping of the entire conversation between the 2 NPCs can unlock 2 more information gathering missions.
Failing to kill the NPCs before they tell their friends about you, creates 'hotspots' in certain areas of the city where NPCs patrolling can spot you if you get too close without blending in.

thats actually a great idea

i think they should have made eaves dropping a challenging mini game

your in a crowd right so what you do is lockon and do some sort of button combos timing them right to reduce background noise. you only hear what you hear clearly
so if you fail a few tiems what you hear will not be complete and nor will the writing you gain after

sort of like dance mat games but you time button presses at the right tiems to keep ur concentration on the two peopel rather than teh crowd noise

Meh, the first idea was nice.

But the timing button presses in a sort of combonation... nah, it wouldn't work.

Because it wouldn't make sense. The game does what it can to make sure that everything that happens or appears makes sense.

**Possible SPOILERS**

The GPS, for example, is programmed into the Animus, and thus makes (somewhat) sense.
The button mapping icon, same reason.
Glitches on the screen, same reason.
"Synchronization Bar", same reason.

So, basically, everything has a reason.

Hmm... a reason for that button combo thingie seems hard to make and unlikely...
But something similar would be good.
