View Full Version : Why Don't I Die?

I've been playing for a few weeks now in the pilot career dynamic campaign and when I get killed in action I'm still listed as alive. I end the mission after getting killed, and the screen describes the mission but doesn't include me as KIA. If I go to fly another mission I am given the same mission again. Am I missing something here?

I think the programmers probably didn't bother to list players as KIA for at least two reasons; you're dead and you already know your dead.

The reason you keep getting the same mission is because you died. You can't advance in the campaign because...well...you died. If you complete the mission succesfully you can go on to the next. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

You choose to play "Dead is Dead" on your own volition (if you die in a career, you stop playing that career), but that is as far as it goes.

no no no. i am not dead. the pilot killed message is incorrect. just like 'i'm taking hits' message when ai crash lands.

i believe i blacked out from too many g's, was picked up by a pby, saved by a surgeon, nursed in rehab by a beautiful blonde volunteer from the states, and sent back to my squadron in a few nanoseconds.

her name is Ginger. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/winky.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/sleepzzz.gif

If you're dead how come you can write on the forums?
Is anyone else here dead?

Actually it would be good to have the campaign cease altogether...and end in a respectful service for the lost pilot.
It would make me a lot more careful in battle.

When the mission is over, it goes to a screen like the mission briefing. There is a section that lists losses for both sides. Your section will list enemy planes shot down by whom and pilots lost. With YOU dead, it should read as rank followed by last name or callsign followed by status (k.i.a). Or at least it did, since I killed my computer, I currenly can't confirm this.
