Does the Saitek X52 work under Windows XP64?

I'm sick of my Sidewinder FFB. Without the self-centering it's very difficult to recover from stalls since patch 4.01. I am thinking of buying the Saitek X52. If there's a better joystick out there, that works under Win XP64, please let me know.

Thanks in advance!

try asking on the saitek site or in the community help/technical forum

Time for an upgrade me thinks...

Just curious Ivan, what joystick do you use? And what joystick settings?

I use MS FF2 with X45. I can post joystick settings later when i get home. From X45 i only use throttle.

Running XP64 as well. A bit of a hassle installing stuff...but runs pretty nice overall.

Ah you're still using a Sidewinder as well! I have the MS Sidewinder FFB Pro 2 too, but nearly gave up on it. I simply can't find a proper set of joystick settings for it, since patch 4.01. If you can help me, I would be VERY happy! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Thanks Ivan! I gave it a quick go and can now do a barell roll below 350 km/h in the Fw 190 A-9 (with MK 108 and 50% fuel). Before I always stalled for some off reason... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif
Odd reason may be force feedback, actually (which is off now)...

I also did a quick mission against two La-7s with height advantage and 25% fuel. Managed to shoot em both down. Now the ultimate test... online... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Glad it could help, let me know how it goes. Keep in mind that FFB2 is probably the best stick ever made and it`s a true shame that they are off production. Don`t get read of it too soon... buy X45 and use throttle from it http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif It`s an awesome combo.

Cheers Ivan! It's going a lot better now, although for some reason the Fw 190 A-6 is very hard to control in steep turns. It just falls away. No probs with the A-9. Odd http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Tonight I flew the Ta 152 on my home computer and it went pretty well... 3 kills in under 90 seconds! Screenshot of the third kill from the recorded track... a classic barrel roll overshoot:

That's me in the Ta 152 by the way:
