If there are they would more likely be Russian girls, like it was in the real war in the East.My American girlfriend here in Northern Michigan sort of seems to speak for alot of American girls as far as not understanding this game and thinks I need mental help! She also likes to remind me the war is over and how my beloved "Blue Side"....LOST http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif LOL -astrogoth

We also used to have Womenfly2, but I think a lot of guys scare the girls away by bothering them. Either that or they later change their screen names and never let on again that they are female. Some of the guys in here let their tongues hang out too far and LeBillfish is the only one who has been able to handle it.

In 2005 a girl was PM'ing me all the time because she liked a post I had made on how to land planes in the sim. I was not able to help her much because ( mildly ironic ) I was quite emanored by a new girlfriend I had at the time and was not posting or playing PC games much. I was too busy playing other sorts of games!! That girl apparently lost interest and found another hobby or somethng. Gee, it's all my fault too!!

BTW, Womenfly2 was/is a RL pilot.

american chicks are to futile and they are busy doing her hair or speaking about her friend's boyfriend. so do not expect to see some american girl flying around inside a ww2 aircraft in il2.

I used to often play with an 19 year old girl that used to frequent the forum here, but I kept her sex a closely guarded secret at her bequest, she did not want to be seen as anything else but a keen player (and Good), she used to make me laugh in that neither herself nor her parents or any of her friends could understand her passion for the game........

She has not been about for a long time now, but I do miss our chats, she was one of the good un's... was mean't to meet up with her at one of the flight sim shows, but at the last minute had to tell her I could not go because other things got in the way...... shame really.

I still understand about her reluctance to let on about her sex....... you get some people fall over and act like total a**es when they find a girl present in games....

We also used to if memory serves me right fly against a 13 year old girl on UBI COM many moons ago and she used to wipe the floor with most players, including me http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I think the Frag Dolls played the game once, but I think the learning curve was too steep for them as game promoters. IL2 would just take too much attention away from other games they could help promote.

As with the real VVS we have some women pilots in the GIAP.

They sort of break down into two classes. Either they listen, train hard and get good or they take offence at being shot down and crashing.

However, the miracle of Soviet oraganisation is that we have even found useful things for the latter of the two classes to do. We put them in the NKVD. They then get a cool uniform with furry hat and can rush around telling people what they are not allowed to do, arresting them and shooting malingerers. They have a ball!

The Advanced Fighter Pilot School instructor over at Joint-Ops is a female. She has instructed many a virtual pilot in this sim.
She is also a deadly adversary, if you ever cross her path in virtual flight.

Yesterday my squad had a friendly match with another couple of squads, and I was told the squadron leader of one of them is a woman. As they have their own coms, I can't say for sure if it is true.

If any of you happened to fly against us last night, I'd just like to say thanks for two great games!

Says the guy with DIRTY-MAC as a name, yea, that`ll make the girls come running!

If women can`t handle a bit of sexual innuendo on a primarily male war flight-sim forum, then they`re in the wrong place. Last thing I want is the forum politically correctly neutered so we have a bland space here.

Besides, Billfish manages to give back some to us as well.

Amen!

I've served with a handful of real world women fighter pilots, and they all had thick skin to varying degrees. They were a competent great group of gals who fit in well. There was only one we had to watch ourselves around, and she wasn't to bad. You could kid with her, just not the normal guy sex talk.

On the other extreme was a fellow female instructor who usually led the charge to the seedier establishments at night. She was more than happy to stuff bills in our mouths and throw us on the table. Still, even she had her limits, as a friend of mine discovered one day.

As a CO of mine once said, women just have access to a big "i'm offended button" that we men do not have. And you never know what it takes to set off.

Jen started the first "Romanian" virtual squadron, E54. I've put Romanian in quotation marks, because I don't believe there were any actual Romanians on the squad - D13th, which has a large contingent of Romanian nationals, was formed later.

Jen was also one of the original Il-2 beta testers and an excellent virtual pilot. Every once in a blue moon she'd post here. She may still be posting over at SimHQ - I don't visit there much anymore, so I'm not sure.

Until you've been chased by people that have romantic or sexual intentions that you have no interest in, you'll never understand it.

When a woman that's ill-favored in ever sense of the word is attracted to you, won't stop bugging you, and is always making advances, are you flattered? When a member of the same sex makes advances, are you flattered? While this may not bug you when it happens rarely, imagine going through life and having people make said advances several times a day, it gets very old very fast. I know because it's happened to me quite a bit.

In other words, of the women that do play, I'm quite sure that they get sick of everybody harassing them. Of those that remain, and use risqué photos, they seem to enjoy the attention.

Mr. Dogpoo, I well remember when ladysaber was on voice coms. She wanted to talk to Jeppo and myself because she'd known us for so long. Jeppo instantly asks for nude photos, and you ask her, "Yea, tell us, thong, bikini, or granny panties."

Is it any wonder???

In reference to Fork-N-spoon's sig (and I don't mean to disappoint poor ol' Uncle Chop Chop but)...I actually prefer brunettes http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

As to the topic of this thread, I think it is a good thing to see ladies flying this sim, which is predominantly played by males. It certainly is not a man only thing.
I do have a question though. How many of you men out there have convinced your significant others to take an interest in this kind of thing? Assuming they weren't already fascinated by it in the first place. Anyone?

I've heard that the definition of paranoia is when you drop your wallet in San Francisco
and kick it all the way to LA before you bend over to pick it up.

Is it okay if I don't say I like blondes just because I don't want Chop-Chops' 'attention'?
really, why does Chop-Chop care what another guy likes?
