On the weekend she was being flown from her home farm base doing aerobatics when she lost power, forced to put her down on a rough surfaced field in accordance with standard operating procedures the pilot carried out a wheels up belly landing, (landing on a rough surface with the gear down will result in it flipping) no one has been hurt except for the pilots pride, damage has been done to the underside of the aircraft, the prop is bent and the engine possibly shockloaded, but details are a bit shortcoming at the moment, she has been lifted, wheels dropped and towed back to her home farm base for repairs to be started.. at the moment it is estimated she will be out of the air till at least next year.. but she will be back http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Thank God nobody was hurt. And it sounds like the plane is not a write off, so we can be very thankful for this at least as well.

Wow! You scared me with that title for a minute there.

Glad to hear the pilot wasn't hurt and that there's no serious damage to the plane.

Good to hear that everyone is ok, even better to hear that the Mustang can be repaired. We have lost enouph planes this summer already.

thank god everything and everyone is okay. It's sad to see that the days where these planes will start to be grounded are finally coming. Soon they will be too expensive to maintain and fly. And our children won't be able to see what we have seen.

Glad to hear both plane and pilot are more or less ok. Was it on its way to or from an airshow?

As long as the pilot is ok! "no one has been hurt except for the pilots pride" - hmmm I can't see the reason why when he did everything just right - maybe he just got scared.
