I wondered if anyone had an indication of the units, IJN,IJA? stationed in and around Singapore, in Jan-March 1945?, and the types of aircraft (or likely aircraft) present (Fighter and Bomber).

Seems a tall order to me, but I know little of the PTO and SEA theatres so hopefully someone much better read in these areas might have some idea.

Thanks in advance.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

According to Japanese Army Air Force Fighter Units and Their Aces - 1931-1945, by Ikuhiko Hata, Yasuho Izawa, and Christopher Shores, the following IJAAF units were stationed in Singapore during your required time frame:

13th Hiko Sentai (Ki-43-III, and Ki-84) - Tengah, Singapore - January-March 1945
26th Hiko Sentai (Ki-43-II, Ki-43-III) - Singapore (specific air field not given)
1st Field Reserve Group, Fighter Unit (71st Dokuritsu Hiko Chutai) (Ki-84, Ki-43-III) - Tengah, Singapore - April 1944 - End of War

Hope this helps http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Yes, that helps immeasurably, can't thank you enough.

As for the IJN, would I be wrong to assume that the IJN would also have some responsabilty for the defence of Singapore harbour installations?<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

According to what I found on this site (http://www.j-aircraft.com/faq/A6M_pt3.htm), there were at least some IJN Rufe aircraft there...here is the quote: "Originally, there were no Rufe units at Singapore. Those aircraft were former 934 Ku (Ambon) after that unit disbanded and the aircraft sent to Surabaya. Then sent on to the 936 Ku. This augmented the other aircraft then in use by the 936 Ku."<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
