Why are all of the dynamic campaign missions during blue skies and the middle of the day???

Thanks!
Tom

Tom

Because 99.99999% of combat missions in WW2 were flown in blue skies and the middle of the day (night fighters and night time bombing raids excluded.)

It was ever so slightly difficult to fly at night or in poor visibility without the aid of things like radar, IR, and night vision, so it was generally avoided.

I'm not sure why your weather and time don't change. Are you flying
FB+AEP+PF?

I had an adrenaline rush last week when I got a scramble mission at
MIDNIGHT on a moon lit night. I hadn't checked the mission time before
committing to 'fly'. When the sim had finished loading there was nothing but
a dim wash of moon light over the runway! I had NEVER flown a night mission in
over 4 years of IL2 flying. This was jumping in the deep end for sure.
I'm flying a P-40o in the Pearl Harbor dynamic campaign. It was my first
mission after transferring to New Guinea in July 1942. The search lights lit up
as I started my engines and began to roll. My heart was in my throat when I
began to see a positive rate of climb on the vertical speed indicator. Gear Up.
Flaps to combat. Roll to the left to look over my wingmen on the runway (using
TrackIR3Pro of course, never fly without it). All of their navigation lights
showed like beacons in the night, saying "Come bomb us please". I quickly
extinguish mine!
I can see 3 waves of Japanese bombers and fighters coming in from three
directions because their navigation lights are on too. Wink, wink, wink, out
they go. Man, I gotta find these guys in the dark! I flew a stern conversion
based on the last known vector of one of the flights. I radioed my squad to
'target all', and ordered my wingman to 'cover me'. As I pulled out of the turn
wings level, I see some motion in my gun sight. I shoot a few machine gun rounds
to see if there's anything there. Little flashes tell my "Yes!", so I open up
with the cannon and "Boom, there she blows!", I've got my first flaming Zeke
arcing through the night.
I survived (barely) with 3 kills. Couldn't tell you much about how. What
a RUSH! Man, I love this sim! Sorry I don't know how to make yours do this. It should just work.
