Check out this Spit XIV cockpit from Real Air Simulations. For only $32.99 download or $38.98 CD you too can have duplicated paint chips on your pedals and cockpit sides.

Try taking it for a spin. I never paid any attention to such trifles.

Have you actually tried it? I am betting no. It is a league beyond anything in PF/46 in both looks, modelling (3d) and simulation (systems etc.) Wanna see something really pretty? Check out the 109E* cockpit or that of P-47 in IL-2. Fugly beyond all imagination.

That Real Air Spit XIV is like listening to Wynton Marsalis play "The Prince of Denmark's March" on his trumpet---pure bliss. What an airplane, what a FM.

Not to get OT or anything (heh) but I have tickets to see Wynton play this coming Tuesday. Can't wait. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

I think that the point is:

For high quality, you expect the full package. Good looks and excellent modelling are NOT mutually exclusive. For "the best" you expect that term to apply to all aspects, not selected ones

Personally I'd be more concerned about the modern instruments they seem to have crammed into the poor thing...

It should look like this:

So how many formations of these super modeled spits can we fly against how many formations of 109Ks at a time?

With the RealAir spitfire, you can toggle between the 'warbird' and the civilian version of the cockpit.

The package set new standards for FS aircraft when it was released. It's a couple of years old now but it is still a very good package overall.

It still the benchmark against which other third party planes are compared, very few actually meet this high standard.

To the people ****ging it off because the game it is in doesn't feature combat, How about you fly a B-17 from Duxford to berlin in IL-2 ... or switch fueltanks, or move your head about in the cockpit, how about you switch magneto's during a pre flight check ... you can say all you want but IL-2 is lacking some of the most basic aircraft functions that even powered hanggliders have IRL. That's kinda sad.

To be honest, I reckon the Spitfire's a little too cramped for that kind of thing.
