This was in our local paper the other day, the beach is but 50 yards from my front door and I walk the lenght of it at least once a week... Never knowingly seen anything that looks as if it came from a WWII A/C though. Lol.

the plane didnt explode, nor did it burry deep into the ground. they cleaned up the surrounding area pretty good easily i think. also ww2 aircraft parts look often like trash.
in my city, here in germany, near duesseldorf, a b17 crashed too in june 1944, if i remember it right, only a few hundred meters away from where my house is. ill do further research soon, but atm, they wont take a 16 years old boy serious when i ask at the city's archive.

Yes I saw the item on Points West the other day.
The aircraft apparently executed a perfect crash landing. Good job it wasn't at Weston otherwise it would have sunk without trace in the mud.
